A spin-off of ‘Next Level Chef,’ Fox’s ‘Next Level Baker’ is a cooking competition series that follows twelve bakers — coming from professional, home, and social media backgrounds — as they go head-to-head against one another in a heated competition. Celebrating the holidays in a winter wonderland setting with baking, the bakers must create innovative and unique holiday treats as the mentors, Gordon Ramsay, Carla Hall, and Candace Nelson, take them under their wings to help them go further in the competition.
As contestants are eliminated after the elimination rounds, the remaining bakers are tasked with newer baking challenges, including baking boozy holiday treats. As they battle for the titular title, a chance to win $25,000, and a HexClad prize package, the judges have the tough task of choosing the best from all the talented participants. The competition and the drama surrounding the bakers unfold in a closed space that seems familiar to the space where ‘Next Level Chef’ takes place.
Next Level Baker Filming Locations
Following the pattern of ‘Next Level Chef,’ ‘Next Level Baker’ is also filmed entirely in Ireland, especially in County Wicklow. Principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the spin-off series took place around the months of October and November 2025 over the course of several weeks. As the premiere date of the show approached, John Paul Payne, the hair and make-up supervisor, took to social media and stated, “Such an amazing experience working with an incredible team. Well done to the entire hair makeup team on a fantastic show! Congratulations to the cast, it’s going to be an amazing holiday special!”
County Wicklow, Ireland
The production team of ‘Next Level Baker’ also set up camp in County Wicklow, situated in the province of Leinster. They reportedly took over the three-level kitchen of ‘Next Level Chef’ at the Ashford Studios, which is located just a few miles away from Dublin. In order to match the holiday vibe of the spin-off, they transformed the sound stage into a winter wonderland. While the middle level acts as a regular kitchen, the basement level is where the bakers work their magic.
Ashford Studios offers four different kinds of sound stages, including a Christmas Tree stage, a Box stage, a Gasworks Stage, and a Dairy stage, each of them of different sizes and for different purposes. On top of that, the film studio is also home to office spaces, dressing rooms, workshops, and fully-fitted kitchen and restaurant facilities. Its backlot space comprises many on-site locations, such as a parkland, wooded areas, a farmyard, and more. All these amenities make it a prominent filming destination for all kinds of projects, including ‘Next Level Baker.’
