Where Was Reacher Season 3 Filmed?

The creation of Nick Santora, Prime Video’s ‘Reacher,’ is a high-octane action series that revolves around a retired Military Policeman named Jack Reacher, who is at the heart of a murder investigation as he is framed for a crime he did not commit. Adapted from Lee Child’s novel titled ‘Persuader,’ the third installment of the crime show follows the titular character as he brings his mind and muscle to the investigation of Zachary Beck, who has ties to someone from Reacher’s past.

In order to get to the bottom of the case and find out the truth behind Zachary’s import business called Bizarre Bazaar, the DEA teams up with Reacher and assigns him the responsibility of going undercover to not only stop Zachary’s shady operations but also rescue another undercover DEA informant. The powerful portrayal of Jack Reacher by Alan Ritchson is supported by stellar performances from several other talented actors, including Maria Sten, Anthony Michael Hall, Johnny Berchtold, and Olivier Richters. Throughout the season, we follow the journey of the multi-faceted characters as they get engulfed in explosions, car chases, and fights that are brought to life on the canvas of the town of Abbottsville in Maine.

Reacher Season 3 Filming Locations

The shooting for the third season of ‘Reacher’ was carried out primarily in Ontario, especially in the Greater Toronto Area, Brantford, and several other locations, including Hamilton, Millbrook, and Port Perry. Furthermore, Newfoundland in Newfoundland and Labrador also hosted the production for season 3. According to reports, principal photography began in the summer of 2023 but was halted just one month into it. In July, the filming was affected by the 2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike, leading to a four-month break. From what we can tell, the shooting resumed in November of the same year and continued for several months before wrapping up in July 2024.

Greater Toronto Area, Ontario

One of the primary production locations of ‘Reacher’ season 3 is the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario. Apart from the city of Toronto, the filming unit also took over the Escarpment House at 4411 Escarpment Side Road in the town of Caledon to tape several pivotal sequences. The property, which doubled as Zachary Beck’s mansion, is home to a large pool and plenty of gardens, but it is not next to a waterbody, which was added in post-production. As per reports, a minor portion of the third iteration was also lensed in the city of Pickering. Situated in Southern Ontario, the city provided many suitable backdrops to expand the show’s universe.

Brantford, Ontario

Located on the Grand River in the southwestern part of the province, the city of Brantford is another major filming site for the third season of ‘Reacher.’ Redecorated to serve as the fictional town of Abbottsville, Maine, the city’s streets are seen in the backdrop of multiple scenes. To be specific, the cast and crew members were spotted recording numerous important portions on George Street, including the vinyl store scene. A car chase scene was reportedly shot on Dalhousie Street, with King Street, The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, and Market Square Mall also appearing. Moreover, the abandoned lot that Reacher goes through the fence is also located at the corner of Dalhousie and King Streets.

Other Locations in Ontario

For shooting purposes of season 3, the production team of the action series also traveled to other locations across the Heartland Province, including Hamilton. It seems that they spent about a couple of weeks at the Aeon Bayfront Studios to tape some interior as well as exterior sequences. Situated at 243 Queen Street North in Hamilton, the film studio is home to a 27,000-square-foot main stage, 40,000+ square feet of additional production space, and about 4 acres of outdoor space, making it a rather suitable filming destination for different kinds of projects.

In April 2024, the filming unit of ‘Reacher’ set up camp in downtown Millbrook and transformed the area into a small town in Maine. A bridal shop on King Street East was turned into the Time Warp Toys store. Next to it is the chocolate factory called Millbrook Valley Chocolates, which also makes an appearance in the backdrop. In addition, the Perry and Queen Streets in the downtown area of Port Perry also served as production locations for the third season.

Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador

In the last leg of the shooting schedule, the cast and crew members traveled to the island of Newfoundland in the Newfoundland and Labrador province. The capital of the province, St. John’s, hosted the production of a significant portion of the show’s third iteration. A bus station scene was filmed in the downtown area of the city. Additional portions of ‘Reacher’ season 3 were also recorded in the small fishing town of Portugal Cove South on the southeastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula.
