Adapted from the eponymous 2019 novel written by Colleen Hoover, ‘Regretting You’ centers on the complicated relationship between Morgan Grant and her daughter, Clara. Having conceived her daughter at a young age, Morgan had to put a halt to her own aspirations so as to be there for Clara and raise her. Several years later, issues arise in the mother-daughter relationship after Clara enters her teenage years. Meanwhile, the teenager gets into a romantic relationship with Miller Adams.
Things become all the more complicated when Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father, meets with a fatal accident. However, when the tragedy uncovers a shocking betrayal and family secrets, the bond between the mother and daughter begins to mend as they find comfort in each other. Helmed by Josh Boone, the romantic comedy drama movie features a talented ensemble cast comprising Allison Williams, McKenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames. The tale of romance and familial relationships unfolds primarily in the residence of the Grants, the church where Chris’ memorial is held, and the high school that Clara attends, visually enriching the narrative.
Regretting You Filming Locations
Production on ‘Regretting You’ was conducted in its entirety in Georgia, particularly across Metro Atlanta. From what we can tell, principal photography for the romantic drama film commenced in March 2025 and continued for a couple of months before seemingly wrapping up by the end of May of the same year. McKenna Grace, who portrays Clara Grant, took to social media upon the release of the film, stating, “This was one of my favorite filming experiences I’ve ever had. Got to make a movie with my best friend and met some of my favorite people too.”
Atlanta Metropolitan Area, Georgia
For the purpose of filming, the cast and crew of ‘Regretting You’ visited multiple locations in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area in Georgia. In March 2025, the team was spotted shooting in the city of Clarkston in DeKalb County. In particular, filming took place at Refuge Coffee Co. at 4170 East Ponce de Leon Avenue Northeast. According to Location Manager Patrick Miller, the overall experience of shooting in the area was a positive one, as the residents, local shopowners, and the authorities were quite friendly and cooperative. The warmth from the community ensured that the process went smoothly, without any major hiccups that could have hampered production.
A portion of the film was also taped in Decatur, which is also located in DeKalb County. Some sequences were lensed at Decatur Cemetery at 229 Bell Street in the heart of the city. Established in 1823, the 58-acre green space is the oldest known public cemetery in the region. About 20-25 miles from Decatur, taping was also carried out in Duluth, a vibrant and diverse city in Gwinnett County. According to reports, the premises of Duluth High School, located at 3737 Brock Road Northwest, doubled as a shooting site for the romantic drama film. In addition, the city of Morrow in Clayton County was also utilized to paint the backdrop of ‘Regretting You.’ The cast and crew settled on AMC Southlake 24, a 24-screen cinema complex at 7065 Mount Zion Circle, to film a few scenes.
