Sheriff Country Filming Locations

‘Sheriff Country’ is filmed primarily across Ontario, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton. According to reports, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the spin-off series got underway around mid-May 2025 and is scheduled to be wrapped up by late January 2026. Although ‘Fire Country’ is primarily shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, ‘Sheriff Country’ is filmed in Toronto, Ontario, due to Morena Baccarin’s insistence that Vancouver is a five-hour flight away from her family in New York City. Thus, the makers met her in the middle ground to get her on board and agreed to shoot in Toronto, which allowed her to visit her family every weekend.

Greater Toronto Area, Ontario

A majority of ‘Sheriff Country’ is lensed across the Greater Toronto Area, which consists of the eponymous city at the heart and several regional municipalities in the surrounding areas. Besides the city of Toronto, the town of Milton in the Halton Region served as one of the prominent production locations for the crime series, as it doubles for the fictional town of Edgewater. The cast and crew members were spotted taping pivotal sequences in the downtown area of the town, including Main Street, Brown Street, and Mary Street. They reportedly set up a farmer’s market in the area for shooting purposes. Between Main and James Streets, a police chase scene was also shot involving about 140 crew members.

In late August 2025, a car crash scene was recorded between Mill Street and Rotary Park. Knox Presbyterian Church, located at 170 Main Street East in Milton, and a couple of residential properties in the area, also served as crucial filming sites. Besides the town of Milton, the town of Oakville was also transformed into Edgewater for several scenes. Multiple portions, involving a courtroom showdown, were reportedly shot in the city of Brampton in July 2025. The town of Whitchurch-Stouffville also hosted the production of multiple key portions. The filming unit of ‘Sheriff Country’ also set up camp in the city of Mississauga, where they utilized the facilities of a film studio to shoot numerous scenes set in a hospital in August 2025, as well as several street sequences related to drugs in October 2025.

Hamilton, Ontario

The production team of ‘Sheriff Country’ also traveled to the neighboring city of Hamilton, located in Southern Ontario. In the backdrop of various exterior or establishing shots, you are likely to spot a few popular spots, buildings, and landmarks, such as Dundurn Castle, the Central Fire Station, Hamilton City Hall, and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Besides ‘Sheriff Country,’ Hamilton has hosted the production of various notable projects, including ‘Mayor of Kingstown,’ ‘Murdoch Mysteries,’ ‘Cross,’ ‘Nightmare Alley,’ ‘Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey,’ ‘The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,’ and ‘Gone in 60 Seconds.’
