A sequel to the 2023 movie ‘The Family Plan,’ Apple TV’s ‘The Family Plan 2’ is an action comedy movie helmed by Simon Cellan Jones. The narrative follows the former government operative, Dan, who goes back to leading a normal life with his wife, Jessica, and their children, after the events of the first part. As Dan goes on an elaborate European vacation with his family during the holidays, his plans are derailed when his past comes back to haunt him.
When a mysterious man named Aidan reenters his life to take over his family business, Dan must keep his family from harm during their trip. As he is pursued overseas, the cat-and-mouse chase between the two men leads to car chases, bank heists, and high-octane fights. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kit Harington, Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, and Van Crosby, the international expedition also teleports the viewers to various popular tourist destinations in London and Paris.

Production on ‘The Family Plan 2’ took place in England, France, and California, especially in London, Kent, Surrey, Paris, and Los Angeles. According to reports, principal photography for the sequel film got underway in December 2024 under the working title ‘Andersons’ and continued for more than three months before wrapping up in March 2025.
London, England
Several pivotal sequences for ‘The Family Plan 2’ were reportedly lensed in and around London, the capital of the United Kingdom and England. The Westminster area in Central London was turned into a film set, and half of the area’s traffic was restricted for shooting purposes. A fighting sequence between the characters of Mark Wahlberg and Kit Harington was also taped on the upper deck of a classic London double-decker bus on the streets of London. Multiple businesses and establishments in Brick Lane also feature in the backdrop of a few scenes.
Kent, England
For shooting purposes, the production team of ‘The Family Plan 2’ also set up camp in the ceremonial county of Kent, where they shot various important scenes. For instance, they reportedly took over the Shipwright’s Arms pub in the Hollowshore area of the town of Faversham. The 17th-century old-fashioned pub aims to offer visitors a chance to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, providing scenic views of its creek-side garden.
Surrey, England
The ceremonial county of Surrey also served as a key filming site for the production of the Mark Wahlberg starrer. In particular, the cast and crew members utilized the amenities of the Shepperton Studios on Studios Road in the village of Shepperton. Known as the second biggest film studio in the world, it is home to 31 purpose-built sound stages, two backlots spread across 12 acres, meeting rooms, a screening room, and workshops. From what we can tell, a few driving and boating scenes were shot on the studio’s sound stage.
Paris, France
A significant portion of ‘The Family Plan 2’ was also taped in France’s capital, Paris. In the establishing shots of the city, you might be able to spot several famous landmarks and attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Basilica of Sacré Cœur de Montmartre, and the Panthéon. During the shooting process, the cast and crew were spotted shooting key scenes in and around the 18th arrondissement, 8th arrondissement, Île Saint-Louis, and Pont Marie, which is near Quai de l’Hôtel de Ville. The Seine River that runs through the city also features in numerous boat scenes. Popularly known as the City of Lights, Paris has hosted the production of multiple movies and TV shows, including ‘Léon: The Professional,’ ‘John Wick: Chapter 4,’ ‘The Count of Monte-Cristo,’ ‘The Bourne Identity,’ ‘Lupin,’ and ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.’
Los Angeles, California
Several locales of the sprawling city of Los Angeles in Southern California were also seemingly utilized as a backdrop for ‘The Family Plan 2.’ The home of Hollywood has built a strong reputation as the center of the American entertainment industry. Many factors, such as accessibility to world-class production studios and post-production facilities, skilled technicians, a strong pool of talent, and a diverse landscape ranging from bustling downtown streets to arid deserts, lush hills to sunny coastlines, make it a favorable filming site for productions of varying genres and scale.
