A spin-off of ‘The Bachelor,’ ABC’s ‘The Golden Bachelor’ is a dating reality series that revolves around people in their golden years. In the sophomore season, the focus is on the romantic journey of a 66-year-old lawyer and retired NFL linebacker named Mel Owens. Hailing from Laguna Hills, California, Mel gets another shot at love as 23 talented and beautiful women try to make space for themselves in the heart of the golden bachelor. Some of the prospects for Mel that feature are Monica B., Roxeanne, Cheryl, Alexandra, Mylene, and more. Hosted by Jesse Palmer, season 2 follows the golden bachelor on romantic dates with multiple women while he tries to gauge who can be his partner for the remainder of his life. Besides the suspense surrounding Mel’s future partner, what keeps the viewers entertained is the visually appealing locations where he spends time with the women.
The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Filming Locations
‘The Golden Bachelor’ season 2 was reportedly filmed in California and Colorado, especially the Los Angeles metropolitan area and Morrison. As per reports, principal photography for the second round of the reality show got underway in July 2025 and continued for more than a month before wrapping up in early September of the same year.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, California
The Los Angeles metropolitan area, situated in Southern California, served as the primary production location for ‘The Golden Bachelor’ season 2. At the start, Mel Owens is welcomed by Jesse Palmer in the Bachelor Mansion, which is known as Villa De La Vina. Located at 2351 Kanan Road in Agoura Hills in Los Angeles County, the luxurious mansion is a regular feature in ‘The Bachelor’ franchise. After Mel’s introduction to the women, the production team then followed him around Los Angeles, where he tried to connect with several prospects. As the season progressed, Mel’s dates also took him outside of the sprawling vicinity of the City of Angels.
Shooting of several dates also took place at the OC Fair & Event Center, where he attended the 23-day annual Orange County Fair. Located at 88 Fair Drive in the city of Costa Mesa, it is a 150-acre event venue that also conducts several other events, including Costa Mesa Speedway, Pacific Amphitheatre, and Centennial Farm. In the establishing and exterior shots, you are likely to spot numerous iconic landmarks and places of interest in the backdrop, such as the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, Venice Beach, Los Angeles City Hall, Wilshire Grand Center, Two California Plaza, and more.
Other Locations
For the purpose of shooting, the cast and crew members of ‘The Golden Bachelor’ season 2 also traveled to Colorado, where Mel went on a date at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. Situated at 18300 West Alameda Parkway near the municipality of Morrison, the open-air amphitheater is a National Historic Landmark that served as one of the many romantic date locations. The venue is known for hosting different kinds of events, primarily concerts and plays.
