Where is The Great British Baking Show Season 13 Filmed?

Also titled ‘The Great British Bake Off,’ Netflix’s ‘The Great British Baking Show’ is a British baking competition series that follows a group of amateur yet talented bakers who lock horns against each other in a number of different challenges. ‘The Great British Baking Show’ Collection 13 or series 16 introduces us to a new group of home bakers from different walks of life across the United Kingdom. As they compete for the title of Star Baker, the contestants must impress the judges with their baking style as well as creativity.

Hosted by Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding, the 16th edition of the reality series consists of a medical student, an engineer, a scientist, a pickled food fanatic, a blue belt in jiujitsu, and an amateur drag king, among others, all of whom are judged by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. The familiar yet iconic setting of the white tent, where the baking magic takes place, forms the backdrop for most of the sequences as the contestants do their best to impress the judges and take home the winning title.

The Great British Baking Show Collection 13 Filming Locations

Following the pattern of the previous seasons of ‘The Great British Baking Show,’ the 16th edition of the baking series was filmed in Welford, England. From what we can tell, principal photography for ‘The Great British Baking Show’ Collection 13 seemingly took place around the spring and summer of 2025, over the course of several weeks. One of the contestants, Carol “Pui Man” Li, took to social media and talked about her experience. She stated, “It was an absolutely amazing experience, and it was the hardest thing I had ever done.”

Welford, England

All the pivotal sequences for ‘The Great British Baking Show’ Collection 13 were reportedly lensed in the rural village of Welford, which is situated in England’s West Berkshire. To be specific, the production team set up camp at Welford Park, located over 5 miles northwest of Newbury, and erected the iconic white tents on the property’s grounds. The tents were put up only for shooting purposes and taken down after the wrap-up. Despite being located in an open field, the crew not only managed to control the power, lighting, and ventilation but also enabled smooth movement for the contestants and themselves.

The Grade I-listed building was built by John Jackson of Oxford for Richard Jones, but it is currently owned by the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, James Puxley. Over the centuries, Welford Park has gone through a few renovations and remodelings of the exterior as well as the interior, leading to the addition of a storey and a facade decorated with Ionic columns. Although the property remains closed to the public throughout the year, it is open for a short period, enabling visitors to witness the year’s bloom of snowdrops. In the backdrop of a few scenes, you might also spot the church of Welford St. Gregory, which is located adjacent to the house.
