In Lifetime’s ‘The Little Girl Who Lived,’ we get acquainted with Alice Kerrigan, who was abducted by a serial killer named The Strigoi and held hostage for four days. Managing to escape the deadly clutches of her captor, she became the only known survivor of the serial killer. Several years later, Alice becomes a successful crime novelist. When she publishes a new book, wherein she reveals her encounter with the infamous killer, she doesn’t think of the possible consequences it can have on her life and that of her loved ones.
In order to prevent her from tarnishing his legacy, the Strigoi returns to the novelist’s life and kidnaps her sister. Battling cancer, the serial killer only has a few days to live. Thus, he demands that Alice rewrite his legacy before he passes away in exchange for the safety of her sister. Helmed by Dylan Pearce, the thriller drama movie encapsulates the dangers of being in the crosshairs of the killer through the eerie and secluded location where he keeps his victims hostage.
Where Was The Little Girl Who Lived Filmed?
‘The Little Girl Who Lived’ was filmed in its entirety in Alberta, particularly in Edmonton. Principal photography for the thriller took place over the course of a couple of weeks in April 2025 under the working title ‘My Final Victim.’ After the conclusion of the filming process, Brittany Bristow took to social media and expressed her gratitude, stating, “This shoot has been one for the books. Feeling very grateful to have been a part of this film.”
Edmonton, Alberta
To bring ‘The Little Girl Who Lived’ to life, the production team settled on Edmonton, the capital city of the province of Alberta. For the purpose of filming, the cast and crew specifically visited Porch Light Books in the northwestern part of town. Located at 9867 on 99th Street in Mill Creek, the cozy bookstore is reportedly a popular spot among the locals. It served as the perfect backdrop to showcase the intense and mysterious setting of Alice’s pursuit of freedom from her captor. A few scenes were likely lensed in the surrounding area as well. The police raid sequence was filmed at night on the rooftop of one of the structures in Canada’s Festival City.
From what we can tell, throughout the production, the cast and crew received full support and cooperation from the friendly community. Situated on the North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton boasts a diverse landscape — ranging from rustic to contemporary and historic — as well as lucrative tax benefits, skilled technicians, easy access to local talent, advanced studio facilities, and a dynamic climate that proves favorable for a wide range of settings. Therefore, it is no stranger to production and has hosted the filming of multiple movies, including ‘The Edge,’ ‘Cut Bank,’ ‘There’s No Way Out,’ ‘Freezer,’ ‘Christmas in Wonderland,’ and others.
