Upon digging deeper into Teddy, he finds himself in the middle of a deadly conspiracy that involves a guerrilla army. Now, he must decide whom he can trust in order to expose the businessman’s secrets. Most of the story unfolds in the criminal underworld of Colombia, which acts as an additional character in the narrative.
The Night Manager Season 2 Filming Locations
‘The Night Manager’ season 2 was filmed in various parts of the world, including England, Colombia, Spain, Wales, and Argentina, particularly in London, Medellín, Cartagena, Canary Islands, Barcelona, Girona, Madrid, and Swansea. Principal photography for the sophomore round took place over a period of nearly six months, from June to December 2024. However, the total number of shooting days was about 96 or 97. At the premiere event, screenwriter David Farr shared his experience of filming in Colombia.
He explained, “Colombia is a very, very complex country, massively misunderstood. Everyone thinks it’s just completely dangerous and it’s totally not true. But for me, I think it was really important to sort of engage in that seriously. So we did. We went there properly, we met people, fantastic people. That’s the great luxury of being writers.”
London, England
The production team of ‘The Night Manager’ season 2 spent about three weeks in and around London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, lensing important indoor and outdoor scenes. Situated in Kensington, a house in Holland Park served as the exterior of Jonathan’s surveillance unit. In an interview with CN Traveller, producer Matthew Patnick revealed the sites in London that were utilized as filming spots. He said, “We filmed a restaurant in Notting Hill, and then we filmed Pine’s apartment overlooking the river. There’s the stunning church in episode two, which was in Willesden Green or Kentish Town. We also have Pine running down the Thames in episode one, another key location for us.”
Medellín, Colombia
Since most of the thriller series is set in Colombia, the filming unit actually traveled to the city of Medellín, where they taped numerous key portions. Complimenting the city, Barry Ryan, head of the production company that produced the show, told Variety, “There’s no place like it in the world. When you’re moving towards the city at night, the way the lights go up and sort of rise up around the bowl is very unusual.” For filming purposes, the cast and crew members also traveled a few miles outside of Medellín and set up camp at a villa in the town of Girardot.
Cartagena, Colombia
Several pivotal sequences involving Colombia were also reportedly shot in the port city of Cartagena. During the five days of shooting in the city in the month of August 2024, the filming unit received total support and cooperation from the Colombian Film Commission. They took over a hotel in the city and turned it into a film set. During the same conversation with Variety, Barry Ryan also elaborated on his and his team’s time in Cartagena. “On our first day of filming, our DoP (Tim Sidell) wanted to film the light coming into this hotel but despite being indoors, the humidity was 100% and the temperature was in the 50s, we were all sweaty,” he recalled.
Canary Islands, Spain

The autonomous community of Spain, the Canary Islands, also hosted the production of ‘The Night Manager’ season 2. Out of the seven main islands that constitute the archipelago, Tenerife and Fuerteventura are the two islands where the shooting for the sophomore round took place. The scenes involving the jungle were reportedly extremely challenging to shoot as the production team had to consider numerous factors, including the heat, humidity, access to the jungle, and mosquitoes. A portion of those jungle sequences was shot on the island of Tenerife.
Other Locations in Spain
The filming unit of the second season of the Tom Hiddleston starrer also traveled to other locations in Spain, including the cities of Girona and Madrid. Interestingly, the interior sequences involving Jonathan’s surveillance unit based in London were reportedly lensed in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. For the purpose of shooting, they also went to the Spanish side of the Pyrenees, where various key portions were filmed.
Other Locations
A minor chunk of ‘The Night Manager’ season 2 was also shot in the coastal city of Swansea, which is situated along Swansea Bay in south-west Wales.
