With Alexandre Carrière at the helm, Lifetime’s ‘The Prep School Disappearance’ is a thriller drama movie that revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a gifted art student at a well-reputed school. Around the same time, a new student enters the campus and takes an active part in the search for the missing student, claiming that it was not an accident. While the fresher believes that someone from the school is hiding a dark secret, things become complicated when one of the teachers comes across a sketchbook containing haunting drawings of the new girl. Besides certain characters hiding the truth, the school where the drama unfolds also serves as an additional character harboring secrets of its own.

‘The Prep School Disappearance’ was shot in its entirety in Ontario, specifically in Ottawa. Principal photography for the Lifetime production got underway on April 22, 2025, and continued for 13 shoot days before wrapping up on May 9 of the same year. Shawnna Downing, one of the crew members, expressed her gratitude after the conclusion of the shooting process. She stated, “That’s a wrap on Disappearance!! Huge thank you to @markwottonmakeup for being my buddy – love working with you!! And to the entire crew & cast for making this such an epic experience! We did it!”
Ottawa, Ontario
All the pivotal sequences for ‘The Prep School Disappearance’ were lensed in and around the capital city of the nation, Ottawa. Situated in Ontario’s southern portion, the city’s streets and neighborhoods were transformed into film sets for the thriller. In order to tape the scenes involving the prep school, the production team set up camp in and around the University of Ottawa at 75 Laurier Avenue East in the neighbourhood of Sandy Hill. Various areas across the campus of the university feature in the Lifetime film.
For instance, the cast and crew members were also spotted taping several scenes both outside and seemingly inside the Tabaret Hall at 550 Cumberland Street, located within the University of Ottawa. The administration hub of the University of Ottawa is a four-storey building consisting of two basements and five wings. It also houses the offices of Human Resources, Information Technology, InfoService, Financial Services, and more. Apart from ‘The Prep School Disappearance,’ Ottawa has hosted the production of many film and TV projects, including ‘The Sum of All Fears,’ ‘House at the End of the Street,’ ‘I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House,’ ‘Abducted on Prom Night,’ and ‘No Easy Days.’

Kamilla Kowal as Wren Sawyer
Kamilla Kowal steps into the character of Wren Sawyer in the thriller film. Since entering the world of entertainment, she has showcased her talent in projects of varying genres and scales. She is best known for her portrayal of Bonnie McMurray in ‘Letterkenny,’ for which Kamilla and the team were nominated for the 2025 Canadian Screen Award for Best Ensemble Performance in Comedy. Her other credits include Maddie in ‘Secrets in a Small Town,’ Memphis Party Guest in ‘Priscilla,’ Emily in ‘The New Romantic,’ and Cheyenne in ‘Web of Lies.’ She can also be seen in ‘Junction Row,’ ‘Winter Love Story,’ ‘American Hangman,’ as well as the short film ‘Serenity.’
