The Spirit of Halloween: Filming Locations and Cast Details

Helmed by Jeff Beesley, Hallmark’s ‘The Spirit of Halloween’ is a fantasy romantic drama movie inspired by Charles Dickens’s classic story ‘A Christmas Carol.’ Set during Halloween, the movie follows Everly Stone, who is clearly anti-Halloween; so in a sense, she is Scrooge. Her firmness eventually makes her earn a “rendezvous” with the three Spirits of Halloween: Past, Present, and Future. These spooky but friendly spirits help her rediscover her true self by taking her through her past, present, and future. This journey helps her to move on from a past humiliation that caused her to hate Halloween. During the endeavor, Beau Madison enters her life, bringing her some much-needed joy sprinkled with romance and, of course, drama. Owing to its very nature, ‘The Spirit of Halloween’ gains a lot from the ambiance, which carries a pumpkin spice charm, enhancing the visuals and the plot’s appeal.

Where Was The Spirit of Halloween Filmed?

‘The Spirit of Halloween’ was filmed in Ontario, specifically in Ottawa and Carleton Place. According to reports, principal photography commenced in the second half of November 2025 under the working title ‘A Halloween Carol’ and continued for approximately three weeks before wrapping up in the second week of December that same year. Thanks to its television tax incentives and grants, as well as picturesque natural and man-made backdrops, Ontario has long been a production spot of choice for Hallmark.

Ottawa, Ontario

A majority of the scenes of ‘The Spirit of Halloween’ were shot in Ottawa, located in Ontario’s southeastern region. As per actress Meghan Ory, “it was really cold…halfway through filming, it started snowing, and we had to burn off all the snow.” The extras brought their own Halloween costumes for the required scenes, adding personal touches to the magical story. Streets and structures were decked out in Halloween décor. Some landmarks Ottawa is known for are the National Gallery of Canada, Rideau Hall, the Fairmont Château Laurier, and the Canadian Parliament buildings.

Carleton Place, Ontario

The crew also shot several scenes in Carleton Place, a beautiful town in Eastern Ontario’s Lanark County. In the movie, Beau Madison is a fireman at the Carleton Place Fire Department, which makes the town a natural setting for telling Madison’s story. Known for its rich architectural heritage, whether in its buildings or streets, Carleton Place offers tourists several attractions, including Bridge Street, Moore House, Beckwith Heritage Museum, McArthur Woolen Mill, Roy Brown Museum, and the Town Hall. For those looking for fun activities, there is the Carleton Place Pump Track & Skate Park in the heart of Carleton Junction.
