Where Was The Traitors Season 4 Filmed?

Adapted from the Dutch series ‘De Verraders,’ Peacock’s ‘The Traitors’ is a reality competition series that follows a group of 23 contestants, usually celebrities from movies, sports, comedy, or reality television, put together in a secluded castle. The host, Alan Cumming, secretly assigns some of the participants as Traitors. The rest are Faithful players, with the aim of identifying the Traitors and banishing them by voting them out, while building a prize pot worth up to $250,000.

Meanwhile, the Traitors work together to create tension among the Faithful ones and win the grand prize. After completing a challenging mission of the day, all the contestants sit at a round table and debate about who they think is a Traitor amongst them. In the end, they cast a vote to eliminate a player from the game. Season 4 also follows a similar pattern, but introduces new challenges and missions for the Traitors and Faithfuls as the stakes get higher with each passing day. The setting of the remote castle and its surroundings adds to the mystery and suspense of the game of deception.

The Traitors Season 4 Filming Locations

Following the pattern of previous seasons, the shooting for ‘The Traitors’ season 4 also took place in Ardross, Scotland. From what we can tell, principal photography for the fourth iteration of the reality show seemingly got underway around late June 2025 and wrapped up after two or three weeks in July of the same year. A part of the United Kingdom, Scotland is known for its culturally and historically rich architecture and lush green grasslands, making the country a visually impactful and versatile filming destination.

Ardross, Scotland

Keeping with the tradition of the previous seasons, filming of season 4 of the reality series was also conducted in Ardross, a small community in Easter Ross, nestled within the Northern Highlands of Scotland. In particular, the production team settled on the majestic Ardross Castle as the primary spot where the contestants reside, and the drama intensifies as the competition unfolds. Thus, they established the iconic landmark as a base for several days until the shooting wrapped up. In addition to the castle itself, a portion of the surrounding 100-acre parklands also makes an appearance in the show, as tasks are conducted on both sites.

Designed by Alexander Ross, the theatrical Scottish Baronial style architecture and secluded setting of the 19th-century castle make it an ideal backdrop for a show like ‘Traitors’ that requires an atmosphere of intrigue and mystery. The secrecy and psychological tension among the contestants are further complemented by the Gothic Revival design, reflected in the towers, turrets, stone corridors, and foreboding interiors and exteriors with detailed carvings. The elaborate gardens, dense woodland, and the river add to its visual appeal. The historical grandeur and isolation provided by the structure enable it to serve as a thematically perfect site for the Peacock production.
