Where is The Ultimate Baking Championship Filmed?

In ‘The Ultimate Baking Championship,’ 16 of the nation’s most elite pastry chefs go head-to-head in a series of intense and competitive baking challenges. All the bakers’ core techniques, including pâte à choux, laminated doughs, sugar artistry, and chocolate work, are tested, alongside their abilities to bake precision-plated desserts and intricate cakes. After the competing chefs are divided into two groups, each team must work together to create an elevated dessert that brings out one of the four tastes — salty, sour, sweet, or bitter — along with a specific texture.

Some of the challenges that test the bakers’ abilities include creating 3D chocolate sculptures and a science-inspired dessert battle. After creating a dessert in their signature style, the pastry chefs present their dish to judges Duff Goldman and Sherry Yard, who collectively decide who moves on to the next round. When a few selected bakers make it to the Master Challenge, they must create a dessert inspired by their baking journey. The last standing pastry chef earns the title of the Ultimate Baking Champion and the grand cash prize of $50,000. Hosted by Jesse Palmer, the baking competition show takes place in a large indoor kitchen setup, where the top pastry chefs create unique desserts.

The Ultimate Baking Championship Filming Locations

‘The Ultimate Baking Championship’ is filmed in California, especially in the city of Burbank. From what we can tell, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the baking show got underway in August 2025 and went on for about nine weeks before wrapping up around October of the same year. One of the participants, Juan Gutierrez, shared his experience of being a part of the competition, stating, “Filming this show was such an incredible experience. I had the honor of competing alongside some of the best pastry chefs in the country. The level of talent was unreal.”

Burbank, California

Although the pastry chefs come from different walks of life and from different regions of the nation, they are gathered in the city of Burbank, where most of the pivotal sequences for ‘The Ultimate Baking Championship’ were filmed. The filming unit reportedly set up camp in a studio lot in the city, near the O.SO Burbank Hotel, where the contestants were housed during the production. There are plenty of studio spaces and film studios in the area, including Warner Bros. Studios, the Burbank Studios, LA Castle Studios, Dreaming Tree, and more. It is likely that the shooting for the reality show was conducted in one of these film studios.

The studio lot utilized for the show consists of a large baking station and an expansive pantry space, sufficient to house all the necessary items. In an interview with Brooklyn Paper, one of the pastry chefs, Cesar Ryan Sajulan, talked about how challenging the competition was. He shared, “It was fun and exciting, but nerve-wracking at the same time. You only get a limited time, and you have to make all these dishes. In your head, you think, ‘I can do it,’ and then you realize the time is really short.” Besides ‘The Ultimate Baking Championship,’ Burbank has hosted the production of several other reality shows, including ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ ‘The Bachelor,’ ‘Floor Is Lava,’ and ‘Be Our Chef.’
