AMC’s ‘The Vampire Lestat’ is the third season of ‘Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire,’ a gothic horror thriller series created by Rolin Jones. Adapted from the eponymous book in Anne Rice’s ‘The Vampire Chronicles,’ the third round of the show centers on the journey of Vampire Lestat as he embarks on a musical tour while his past muses haunt him. With the growing stardom and popularity of Lestat and his band, he gains more influence over humans and vampires. Complications arise when his past begins to haunt him, forcing him to confront his choices and the people in his life. Starring Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Assad Zaman, the tale of horror unfolds across a variety of settings, mostly on concert stages, as the commotion and noise of the crowd reflect the troubles that lurk in every other corner.
The Vampire Lestat Filming Locations
Shifting from the pattern of the previous two seasons, the production of ‘The Vampire Lestat’ took place primarily in Ontario, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area. According to reports, principal photography for the third season of ‘Interview with the Vampire’ got underway around mid-June 2025 under the working title ‘VAMP’ and went on for about four months before wrapping up in October of the same year. Upon the conclusion of the shooting process, the cinematographer, Earle Dresner, took to social media and shared his experience of being a part of the project. He stated, “That’s a wrap on Interview With The Vampire – Part III. An exhausting but intensely creative experience in Toronto that will live long in the memory. Thank you to the unbreakable crew and beautiful cast.”
Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘The Vampire Lestat’ were reportedly lensed across the Greater Toronto Area, which comprises the city of Toronto and the regional municipalities of Durham, Halton, Peel, and York. According to reports, the cast and crew members were spotted taping important scenes on different streets and neighborhoods across the city of Toronto. For instance, the Danforth Music Hall at 147 Danforth Avenue served as a prominent production location for a concert scene involving Lestat. The establishing shots are also likely to feature a few popular buildings and landmarks, such as the CN Tower, the Humber Bay Arch Bridge, the Ontario Legislative Building, and Casa Loma.
The filming unit also reportedly set up camp on a soundstage or two at a film studio located in or around Toronto, which is home to many film studios, including Pinewood Toronto Studios, Revival Film Studios, Cinespace Film Studios, and more. For the purpose of shooting, Sam Reid and the rest of the cast and crew also traveled to the city of Mississauga, situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. Apart from ‘The Vampire Lestat,’ GTA has hosted the production of numerous other projects, including ‘Frankenstein,’ ‘The Invisible Man,’ ‘Nosferatu,’ ‘Ready or Not,’ ‘Black Phone 2,’ ‘It: Welcome to Derry,’ ‘What We Do in the Shadows,’ and ‘The Strain.’
