Where Was The Voice Season 29 Filmed?

Adapted from ‘The Voice of Holland,’ ‘The Voice’ is a singing reality competition series that brings together a bunch of aspiring, unsigned singers who compete against each other in front of popular, well-established musicians as judges. The winner of the competition is determined by viewers who can vote by phone, SMS, or the internet. In ‘The Voice’ season 29, which is also dubbed as ‘The Voice: Battle of Champions,’ the judge panel consists of three Coaches, each of whom has been a winning Coach, for the first time in the show’s history.

As John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine serve as Coaches, the 29th installment also introduced a new voting system, making the competition even more intense. In this edition, the Coaches must make the studio audience fall in love with their frontrunners as super fans and past Artists in the studio vote for their favorites during the Semi-Finals and the Grand Finale. Carson Daly returned as the host in the familiar setting of the stage, where talented musicians battle it out to earn $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.

The Voice Season 29 Filming Locations

Just like previous seasons of the reality show, ‘The Voice’ season 29 was also filmed in California, particularly in Universal City. According to reports, principal photography for the 29th round of the NBC series took place in the summer of 2025, between the months of July and August. Cheche Alara, the music director for the season, took to social media and shared his experience on the set. He stated, “It’s been an honor and so much fun to come aboard this iconic show and work with my dear @johnlegend @kellyclarkson @adamlevine and many more amazing guest judges, an epic band and the best music crew …can’t wait to share more with all of you and give them proper credit!!!”

Universal City, California

Universal City, located within the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, served as the primary production location for ‘The Voice’ season 29. Following the pattern of previous installments, the production team set up camp at Universal Studios Lot at 100 Universal City Plaza. Although there was a slight change in the format of the 29th season, there were no changes in terms of the filming site. Moreover, it is likely that they utilized the amenities of the same sound stage — Stage 12 — to lens all the pivotal sequences of the competition.

Founded in 1912, the Universal Studios Lot is home to more than 30 sound stages of different sizes. It also offers filmmakers more than 30 backlot locations, including the alleys of New York City, the cobblestone streets of Europe, rugged Western Street, Central Park, Colonial Street, and more. The film studio also houses an innovative virtual production facility called Universal Virtual Production Stage.
