A David DeCoteau directorial, Lifetime’s ‘The Wrong Housemaid’ follows a single mother named Mona, who leads a peaceful life with her teenage daughter, Denise. But to get there, the former had to escape from the clutches of her violent husband about a decade earlier and start afresh with new and protected identities. Just when the mother and daughter stop looking over their shoulders, their lives take a dark and unexpected turn when a housemaid arrives, bringing chaos and havoc to their home.
More complications arise when Mona’s dark past returns, along with Derrick, her estranged husband, who never stopped looking for her. Scared for her daughter’s safety, Mona then turns to her loyal friend, Sharon, for help against the housemaid and Derrick, before they can destroy everything she has built. The thriller drama movie is primarily set in Mona’s residence, where she lives with her young daughter. What’s supposed to be their safe haven turns into something nightmarish with the arrival of the housemaid and the reentry of Derrick into their lives.

From what we can tell, principal photography for the Lifetime production likely took place in the spring of 2026, over the span of a couple of weeks.
