With Patricia Cuffie Jones at the helm, Lifetime’s ‘Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery’ centers on a famous Christian feminist icon and bestselling author named Cassie Davies. While she leads a picture-perfect life with her husband, Daniel Davies, she also maintains an extramarital affair with Troy Stamps. Soon, complications arise when she is blackmailed by her once-trusted assistant, who threatens to reveal her affair and taint her marriage, career, and the trust of her followers.
As she is confronted by the videos of her affair, Cassie must deal with her own hypocrisy and make a difficult choice — compromise her principles to protect her legacy and followers or risk her career and marriage by exposing her failures. The faith-based drama movie is set in a wide range of locations, including the church, Cassie’s home, which she shares with Daniel, and places where she meets with Troy.
Where Was Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery Filmed?
‘Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery’ was filmed in its entirety in Georgia, specifically in and around Atlanta. From what we can tell, principal photography for the Lifetime production commenced in September 2025 and continued for a few weeks before wrapping up in the second week of October of the same year. The director, Patricia Cuffie Jones, expressed her gratitude of being a part of the project as the premiere date approached. She stated, “Such a pleasure and honor directing this dynamic cast! God truly did more than I could think or imagine on this project!❤️”
Atlanta, Georgia
All the pivotal sequences for ‘Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery’ were reportedly lensed in the city of Atlanta, the county seat of Georgia’s Fulton County, located among the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The city’s streets and neighborhoods were turned into film sets as the cast and crew members recorded various important scenes. From the looks of it, they seemingly took over a real-life church located in or around Atlanta to film the church scenes.
The filming unit also possibly set up camp at other local establishments and properties, where they taped many key indoor portions for the drama movie. It is also likely that they utilized the facilities of a film studio located in the Atlanta area to shoot interior and exterior shots. In the establishing shots, you might also spot a few landmarks and buildings associated with the Gate City, such as the Bank of America Plaza, the Georgia State Capitol, Truist Plaza, 191 Peachtree Tower, and more.

Erica is a multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter who has also served as a producer/executive producer for ‘We’re the Campbells’ and ‘Watch It with Mary Mary.’ Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, CJ also has a writing and producing credit on the 2018 short film ‘On the Edge.’ As for Trai, he is also credited for writing and producing the 2020 movie titled ‘The 24th.’
