Where is Tires Filmed? Shooting Locations of the Netflix Show

Co-created by Shane Gillis, Steven Gerben, and John McKeever, Netflix’s comedy drama series ‘Tires’ revolves around the Valley Forge Automotive Center and how it is run. While it may sound like yet another workplace show, the show concentrates on the humorous events and incidents that take shape due to the continuous clashes between Will, who manages the store, and his irritating cousin, Shane, one of the employees.

As hard as Will tries to turn around his father’s business, Shane’s oversmart exploits serve as overwhelming obstacles, much to the hilarity of the viewers. Season 2 picks up right after where the first instalment ends and shows how the two guys grow professionally and personally while trying to bring in more profits. Steve Gerben and Shane Gillis return to lead the cast, alongside Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias. They are joined by Thomas Haden Church, Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, Ron White, Steph Tolev, and Veronika Slowikowska.

Tires Filming Locations

While ‘Tires’ is set in Pennsylvania’s Valley Forge, it is filmed entirely in West Chester, located northeast of Valley Forge. Principal photography for the first season reportedly took place in the first half of 2024. Filming of season 2 reportedly began in the first week of October 2024 and continued for around two months before wrapping up in the first half of December of the same year. While being short endeavors, the production schedules turned out to be fun-filled gatherings of comedic talents, and the resulting chemistry can be easily seen in the show.

West Chester, Pennsylvania

West Chester, a borough in Pennsylvania’s Chester County, became the base for the filming of Seasons 1 and 2 of ‘Tires.’ The fictional Valley Forge Automotive Center is, in real life, a full-service auto repair shop named Tires Etc., located at 640 East Gay Street. Almost all the scenes that take place inside the Valley Forge Automotive Center were captured within the walls of the shop. Some scenes may have been taped inside Tires Plus, another tire shop at 500 East Gay Street.

As for the outdoor scenes, the crew resorted to nearby areas, as many buildings and stores can be spotted in the show, including the TruMark Financial Credit Union at 700 East Market Street, Dunkin’ Donuts at 607 East Market Street, Pete’s Express Car Wash at 601 East Market Street, and Parkway Cleaners at 623 East Gay Street. The single-location narrative enabled the crew to properly utilize West Chester, both as a setting and as a highlight.

While small in size, West Chester has made a mark in pop-culture, having served as the backdrop for movies and shows like ‘Marley & Me,’ ‘ Steve,’ ‘Jackass,’ ‘ Jackass: The Movie,’ and ‘Bam’s Unholy Union.’  Those who wish to make the most of their stay in the borough can visit Chester County History Center, Buckwalter Building, West Chester Downtown Historic District, Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center, West Chester Railroad, and American Helicopter Museum. Pennsylvania itself served as the backdrop for ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.’
