Where is Vampirina Teenage Vampire Filmed?

Inspired by ‘Vampirina Ballerina’ by Anne Marie Pace and ‘Vampirina’ by Chris Nee, Disney’s ‘Vampirina: Teenage Vampire’ acquaints us with a tween vampire girl named Vee Hauntley, who aspires to become a popular musician. Having grown up in a protective household in Transylvania, she leaves her comfort zone to pursue her dreams. As she attends a performing arts boarding school, she exposes herself to humans for the first time but intends to keep her vampire identity concealed from her peers.

However, when her overprotective father sends an overzealous ghost as Vee’s guardian at school to protect her from vampire hunters, it becomes quite difficult for her to hide her real identity from others. While pursuing her musical dreams, she also encounters different kinds of humans. Created by Randi Barnes, the musical comedy series unfolds primarily in Vee’s house and the boarding school, both of which portray her relationship dynamics with her family and the new friends and enemies she makes at school.

Vampirina: Teenage Vampire Filming Locations

‘Vampirina: Teenage Vampire’ is filmed primarily in California, specifically in the city of Los Angeles. From what we can tell, the pilot of the show was shot around the summer of 2024, while the rest of the episodes of the inaugural season were taped between February and June 2025 under the working title ‘Vampire Pop Star.’ Jenna Davis, who portrays Megan, took to social media and shared her experience on set and extended her gratitude to several crew members. She stated, “I love this cast & crew so much!! Thank you to @amberhorn @anamelikedanicalifornia @skylerwahl @david.hoge @dancross100 @timfederle @bnorthreist @megdeloatch for believing in me & trusting me with bringing Megan to life!! ✨ Can’t wait for y’all to meet her.”

Los Angeles, California

The team of ‘Vampirina: Teenage Vampire’ ventured into diverse locales in Los Angeles in Southern California, to film the entirety of the show. In order to capture the quirky adventures of the tween vampire away from Transylvania, pursuing her passion for music among humans who are nothing like her, the team carefully chose multiple sites throughout the sprawling city. While most exterior shots were recorded outdoors, the interior sequences of the musical-themed series were reportedly taped in the sound stages of a production studio. This is not surprising considering the fact that many other lighthearted sitcoms utilize the services of a production facility to bring their project to life.

Filming in a studio not only offers the team more control over aspects such as design, sound, and lighting but also assists in the creation of wide-ranging backdrops as well as the recreation of the same one in case multiple takes are involved. In addition, it also curbs the chances of scheduling issues and offers full creative freedom to add visual effects. As the city is packed with several world-class studios, the team’s decision to settle upon the facilities of one such complex for the Disney series proved to be a sensible choice. Over the years, the City of Angels has hosted the production of movies and television shows, such as ‘The Addams Family,’ ‘Ghosts,’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ ‘WandaVision,’ ‘Free Guy,’ ‘Ghostbusters,’ ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ and ‘Matilda.’
