Where Was Virgin River Season 7 Filmed?

Adapted from Robyn Carr’s eponymous novels, Netflix’s ‘Virgin River’ is a romantic drama series created by Sue Tenney. It revolves around the ups and downs of the relationship between a former nurse practitioner, Melinda Monroe, and a resident of the titular Northern California town, Jack Sheridan. The seventh season picks up right after the events of the sixth season’s finale. A few weeks into Melinda and Jack’s wedding, they seem to be enjoying their new lives as a married couple.

Meanwhile, the other residents in the town have a purpose of their own. While Preacher aspires to make his dream of becoming a famous chef come true, Kaia must decide whether she is built for a life in a small town. On the other hand, Doc runs into a legal issue at his clinic, and Hope confronts her past. As for Denny and Lizzie, they are looking forward to becoming parents. Season 7 also mostly takes place in the fictional town of Virgin River, which serves as an additional character influencing the bond between the couple and other residents.

Virgin River Season 7 Filming Locations

Following the pattern of previous seasons, the seventh season of ‘Virgin River’ was also primarily shot in Greater Vancouver in the westernmost province of British Columbia. As per reports, principal photography for season 7 commenced in March 2025 under the working title ‘Sea to Sea’ and went on for over three months before wrapping up in June of the same year. From what we can tell, just like the previous seasons, the cast and crew had a great time bringing the seventh instalment to the screen and created lasting memories by the time production came to an end.

At the commencement of the shooting process for the seventh round, Martin Henderson, who portrays Jack Sheridan, shared his excitement about being back on set. Taking to Instagram, he stated, “Season 7 of #virginriver !!!!! Day 1 – here we go……!!!! So stoked to be back at it doing what I love for all of you who love the show. Thank you @netflix for your thoughtful gifts and the continued support and thank YOU to all the fans who keep us coming back here to make this cozy, heartfelt show. It’s an honor to be putting this thing out there for y’all.”

Greater Vancouver, British Columbia

The filming of the seventh installment of ‘Virgin River’ was predominantly conducted in multiple spots in Greater Vancouver in British Columbia. The cast and crew visited North Vancouver, particularly North Shore Studios at 555 Brooksbank Avenue, to tape a portion of the season. The facility boasts 8 fully equipped soundstages, 4 backlot sets, skilled and cooperative staff, and 13 expansive spaces that can be used for office and other production-related tasks. Over the decades, the complex has hosted the filming of a variety of movies and television shows of a wide range and scale. ‘Little Women,’ ‘BH90210,’ ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper,’ ‘Emily Owens M.D.,’ ‘Intersection,’ and ‘Life Unexpected’ are among the titles that utilized the services of North Shore Studios to create their visual aesthetic.

For the purpose of filming, the crew also settled on Langley as one of the production sites. Having served as the filming destination for romantic drama projects like ‘When Calls the Heart,’ ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,’ ‘Tempting Fate,’ ‘To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You,’ ‘Blueprint to the Heart,’ and ‘A Kindhearted Christmas,’ the city seemed like a natural choice to paint the visual canvas of season 7 of ‘Virgin River.’ It is likely that the taping of the season was also carried out in Maple Ridge, in the northeastern section of Metro Vancouver, as well as Burnaby, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.

Yucatan, Mexico

Several important sequences for ‘Virgin River’ season 7 were also reportedly taped in the Mexican state of Yucatán, officially known as the Free and Sovereign State of Yucatán. To be specific, the cast and crew members were spotted filming key portions at Hacienda Cenote Oxmán, located in Periférico in the city of Valladolid. Besides the Netflix production, Yucatan has hosted the production of multiple other film and TV projects, including ‘Against All Odds,’ ‘Song to Song,’ ‘Before Night Falls,’ ‘Abyss of Passion,’ and ‘Humble Maria.’
