Two women find themselves in the middle of a complicated scenario — a pharmacist named Aaliyah Johnson, haunted by her unsettling past, and a policewoman ostracized for being truthful. While the former tries to control the situation from inside the store, the cop tries to take control from the outside. With time running out of their hands, one or the other must find a solution to the hostage situation and prevent the captor from harming anyone. The gripping tale of captivity and crime unfolds primarily inside the pharmacy store, where the hostage situation occurs.
Where Was We’re Getting Out of Here Alive Filmed?
‘We’re Getting Out of Here Alive’ was filmed in Ontario, especially in and around Ottawa. Shooting for the Lifetime thriller reportedly commenced on July 3, 2026, and wrapped up after nearly two weeks in the third week of the same month. One of the cast members, Javier Montenegro, took to social media after the conclusion of the shoot. He stated, “And that’s a wrap after a 12 day production schedule for ‘We’re Getting Out Of Here Alive’, a drama, hostage thriller…This also marked my 4th collaboration with award winning Director Alexandre Carrière who was absolutely brilliant! I just loved our collaborative process, in bringing my character to life, and challenging my choices as an artist and actor. I feel so privileged to be booking and working consistently in these difficult times. So very grateful.”
Ottawa, Ontario
Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘We’re Getting Out of Here Alive’ were lensed in different parts of Ottawa, which is situated at the confluence of the Ottawa and Rideau Rivers. To establish the setting for the Lifetime production, the filming unit utilized multiple streets and neighborhoods across the city and turned them into film sets. In particular, the cast and crew were spotted taping multiple important scenes in the ByWard Market area of Ottawa’s downtown, with several storefronts and businesses featuring in the backdrop. For the purpose of shooting, they also traveled to the city of Gatineau, located directly across Ottawa on the northern bank of the Ottawa River.

The cast of ‘We’re Getting Out of Here Alive’ is led by the compelling performances from L.A. Sweeney, Erica Anderson, and Sergio Di Zio. Sweeney is a Dora Award-nominated actor and a talented writer with a background in Toronto’s independent theatre scene. As for Erica, she was a trained singer before she switched paths and pursued a career in acting after graduating from The National Theatre School of Canada’s prestigious acting program. Sergio is a screen and stage performer who has also served as a producer on numerous short films, including ‘This Is Not a Drill,’ ‘The Grave Decision,’ and ‘You Hired a Hitman,’ as well as the TV series ‘I Will Bury You.’
L.A. Sweeney as Aaliyah Johnson
L.A. Sweeney dons the garb of Aaliyah Johnson, the pharmacist who tries to solve the hostage situation inside the pharmacy, in ‘We’re Getting Out of Here Alive.’ You may recognize her from her work as Jada in ‘Two Brothers,’ Robyn in ‘Last Resort,’ Pam in ‘Taken at a Basketball Game,’ and Ericka Huggins in ‘Being Heumann.’ Her other film credits include ‘Village Keeper,’ ‘Secrets of a University,’ and ‘Abducted Off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story.’
Erica Anderson as Jessie O’Keefe
In the thriller film, Erica Anderson steps into the role of Jessie O’Keefe. She is known for her performance in ‘The Madness’ as the Receptionist, ‘Baroness Von Sketch Show’ as Daisy, ‘Clarice’ as Casey Laughty, and ‘Pocket Dial Murder’ as Joelle. She also showcases her acting prowess in several other films, including ‘Ice Road Killer,’ ‘The Perfect Wedding,’ ‘Killer Prom,’ ‘The Nanny Sees All,’ and ‘Love Triangle Nightmare.’
Sergio Di Zio as Clive Collins
Sergio Di Zio portrays Clive Collins in the Lifetime production. In his decades-long career in the film industry, he has taken up all kinds of roles in a variety of projects. He garnered acclaim for his portrayal of Constable Michelangelo “Spike” Scarlatti in ‘Flashpoint,’ Patrick Finnegan in ‘Rogue,’ Randy in ‘Adults,’ and Landers in ‘Murderbot.’ Sergio also stars in multiple episodes of ‘I Will Bury You,’ ‘The Hardy Boys,’ ‘Murdoch Mysteries,’ and ‘Chucky.’
