Jimmy is Killed to Keep the Fifteen-Year-Old Secret Buried
Jimmy was a singer on the rise when one of his concerts went south following a fire. The deaths of the people haunted him, and the trauma of the incident threw him into a downfall that he could never recover from. But the fire and stampede were not the only things causing him pain. That night, he had an altercation that led to bloodshed, and that’s what eventually sucked the life out of him. As an artist on the rise, Jimmy needed a constant stream of new songs to keep himself in the flow that his fame demanded. On the night of the concert, he performed a new song, which the crowd immediately liked, but it also attracted the ire of Jacek, a songwriter from another band. He accused Jimmy of stealing his song and passing it off as his own, while the rockstar refused to admit any such thing, claiming the credit for the song.
Things turned awry when Jacek attacked him in a fit of anger, and the fight between them ended with Jimmy stabbing Jacek in the chest. The act was entirely unintentional, but it would also have ruined Jimmy for good. That’s when Jacek’s sister, Sandra, came up with a solution. Instead of exposing Jimmy’s crime, Sandra promised that she would never let it come to light. In return, he would have to sign away the rights to the song Jacek claimed was him. This didn’t seem like much in return for not being sent to prison for life, so Jimmy did as he was asked. However, signing away the rights to his biggest song causes serious trouble for his career. The stampede also caused a blot on him professionally, and slowly, he lost whatever reputation he had built until, eventually, he had nothing left.
Fifteen years later, when Greta posts about the sudden disappearance of her husband, Jacek, Jimmy thinks that he gave up everything for nothing. He confronts Sandra about it, believing that Jacek is still alive and that no murder had been committed for him to make a deal with her. However, it takes him some time to realize that Greta’s husband is not Jacek but another member of the band, Szymon. When the truth dawns on him, he decides to expose Sandra. He even meets with Greta at a restaurant and gives her a video from fifteen years ago. When he leaves the restaurant, he is run down by a car and dies on the spot. While it looks like an accident, we know that Sandra had Alex, another member of Jacek’s band, killed in the same manner. This proves that Jimmy, who had started to get on her nerves and could have ruined her life, is also killed by Sandra.
Wiktor Lewinski is Killed for Revenge
While Jacek’s death was the thing that changed the lives of the people around him, it was not what the public remembered from that night. For them, it was the stampede at the concert that claimed a space in their memories. Because of the severity of the crime, someone had to answer for it, and that’s where Wiktor Lewinski came into the picture. When Jacek died, Sandra had to find a way to bury his body without anyone knowing about his death. So, she started a fire, which went out of control and led to the tragic circumstances that claimed the lives of the concertgoers. Realizing that the cops would look for the person who started the fire, she made Wiktor Lewinski take the fall for it.
In return, she promised to take care of his family and do away with his financial problems. She also became his lawyer and made sure that he didn’t get a harsh punishment, due to which he was given fifteen years. At the beginning of ‘Just One Look,’ Wiktor’s prison sentence is done. Now in his late 30s, he still has his best years ahead of him, and Sandra tells him to focus on that. At the same time, however, the people who lost their loved ones at the concert are not satisfied with the outcome and want the culprit to pay the price for his actions. The foremost among them was Karol, Rafal’s father, who happened to be Wiktor’s friend. When the criminal is released from prison, Karol’s desire for revenge flares up. He wants the man to pay for his crimes, and considering how he is already involved in some shady stuff and has the power of money backing him, it is not a difficult task for him to have someone killed.
Karol’s task is made easier by Sandra, for whom Wiktor is the only loose end left. She could let him go, but she realizes that he may want to have his name exonerated and come forward with the truth, derailing everything Sandra had worked for. So, she decides to kill two birds with one stone. She gives up Wiktor’s location to Karol, who has his men kill him at the train station. This way, Karol and the families of other victims of the stampede get their revenge while she keeps her secrets intact and enjoys her life, or so she thinks. By the end of the show, all her bad deeds are exposed, and she pays for her crimes.
