One of the most striking aspects of Netflix’s ‘The Boyfriend’ is the unhurried way in which relationships are allowed to unfold. The contestants are given time to truly understand one another, making each connection feel organic rather than manufactured. In the second season, William Tsukamoto quickly caught the attention of several housemates for his self-assured nature and his openness in conversation. That quiet confidence was what initially drew Jobu toward him. While their journey together was not without its challenges, they still shared numerous tender and meaningful moments that stemmed from a genuine sense of friendship and respect.
William Stopped Reciprocating Jobu’s Feelings After a Little While
From the very beginning, Jobu was drawn to William Tsukamoto. The attraction was immediate, and he made his interest clear early on by writing an anonymous letter to William, expressing a desire to get to know him better. When Jobu was given his first opportunity to run the coffee cart and select a partner, he chose William without hesitation. Within just a few days, Jobu had made it evident that William was the only person he was interested in pursuing, and his focus never wavered. However, the path forward was far from simple. William patiently explained his work to Jobu in detail, and later offered comfort when Jobu opened up about feeling lost and uncertain after past relationships. In those moments, William was a source of reassurance and emotional safety for Jobu. Yet, as William and Izaya continued to gravitate toward each other, Jobu became increasingly aware of the reality of the situation. Even so, he held on to hope and chose to stay open-hearted despite knowing he was part of a complicated emotional triangle.
William and Jobu Didn’t Get a Chance to Start Anything Romantic
William and Jobu shared a warm and supportive partnership, especially in the early days, when William was still open to exploring multiple connections. He spent time with Jobu and, when Jobu confessed his feelings, William neither dismissed them nor asked him to step back. Instead, he was honest about needing more time to understand his own emotions. As the season progressed, however, it became increasingly clear that William’s strongest connection was with Izaya, and that was the direction he ultimately chose. While this outcome was understandably painful for Jobu, he and William did not end up dating, and there appears to be little indication that a romantic relationship will develop between them. They are still socially connected, but it seems to be more of a friendship than anything else.
