The talented 12-year-old singer, Yair Keydar, was first featured on episode 2 of Netflix’s ‘Star Search.’ He first walked onto the stage as a challenger against Eric Adrian Williams, who was the winner of the Junior Music category. From the very first note, Yair’s voice drew the attention of both judges and audience with depth, emotion, and precision far beyond his years. The judges were visibly moved by his performance, and by the end of it, all of them awarded him a perfect five stars, sealing his victory and resulting in Eric’s elimination from the competition. By episode 5, Yair returned to defend his title against another talented challenger, Myles Gee. Once again, the 12-year-old showcased his skills, which helped him secure another win and eliminate his opponent.
Yair Keydar’s Early Passion for Singing Evolved Into a Thriving Theater Career
From the moment Yair Keydar began speaking about his journey on the show, it became clear that music had always been a part of his life. He shared that his love for singing began when he was just three years old. Even at that tender age, he was already dreaming of Broadway, imagining himself under bright stage lights. Yair’s earliest performances in costume and makeup happened not in grand theaters but in the living room of his house, where he used to sing for his family. That supportive audience ultimately marked the beginning of his artistic journey. Remarkably, ‘Star Search’ was also the first competition that he participated in. Before he became a well-known competitor on the show, Yair was already working diligently with the Alliance Theater.
Yair’s Broadway dreams finally came true in the summer of 2024, when he went in for an audition. It eventually paved the way for him to appear in ‘DRAG: The Musical’ that same year, making his off-Broadway debut. As of writing, the contestant is represented by the Zuri Agency: Youth. In February 2025, Yair announced that he would perform in ‘Millions’ at the Alliance Theater, a production that featured lyrics by the renowned Tony Award winner Adam Guettel. In July, he took another major professional step by joining the Actors’ Equity Association. Currently based in Parkland, Florida, Yair has proudly shared his melodious voice with meaningful causes. It led him to join The Pink Agenda in September 2025, during which he raised funds and awareness for breast cancer.
Yair has also participated in several other productions at the children’s theater, including Broadway Bound Academy. Additionally, his talent came to the forefront once again when he took the stage for a duet performance with the well-known soprano, Sarah Brightman. His momentum didn’t slow down there as he then focused on performing at an event with the legendary producer, David Foster, in December 2025. In that same month, Yair also had the honor of meeting Zara Larsson on stage during her show. Besides that, the competitor remains active on Instagram, where he has gained over 13.9K followers, offering the viewers a sneak peek into his professional milestones and also glimpses into his life beyond the spotlight.

One of the most emotional chapters of Yair’s life came when his beloved pup, Pilpil, suddenly passed away.
Yair wrote an emotional tribute for him, expressing, “Thank you, Pilpil, for twelve and a half years of being my best doggie friend. Thank you for all the cuddles and the memories. I love you to the moon and back. rest in peace.” Yair gradually worked through his grief as he sought solace in singing, describing music as his happy place. Whenever he gets the chance, he enjoys spending his free time in the kitchen, where he loves experimenting with desserts, including Dubai chocolate cups. Yair also loves attending concerts with family and friends, and embracing his playful side during Halloween, when he happily dresses up in creative costumes.
