Ainsley McGregor Mysteries Threequel A Case for the Watchmaker in the Works at GAF

Ainsley McGregor will be back with another complex case! Moviedelic can confirm that Great American Family (GAF) has ordered a threequel to ‘Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker,’ titled ‘Ainsley Mcgregor Mysteries: A Case for the Watchmaker.’ The project’s filming will start in Victoria, British Columbia, in February. The director of the threequel has yet to be announced. The franchise is based on Candace Havens’ novel series of the same title.

The plot of the threequel follows Ainsley, whose knack for solving murders in the small town of Sweet River, Texas, brings to her doorstep the curious murder case of a local woman’s husband who has seemingly been killed over his family’s valuable watch.

Candace Cameron Bure will return as the titular character, along with Robin Dunne as Ainsley’s brother, Ryan, and Aaron Ashmore as Jake, Ryan’s best friend and Ainsley’s potential love interest.

Bure most recently starred as Kay Albright in Lionsgate’s true-story-inspired family drama ‘Unsung Hero,’ which is about a mother’s faith that shapes the lives of her kids, whom we now know as For King & Country and Rebecca St. James. A common face on television, she played Aurora in the ‘Aurora Teagarden Mysteries’ film series, the latest one being ‘Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted by Murder.’ She has also played significant roles in numerous Holiday movies, like ‘Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells,’ ‘Home Sweet Christmas,’ and ‘A Christmas Less Traveled.’

Dunne’s latest acting credits include David in Robert Vaughn’s film ‘This Time,’ which follows a sixteen-year-old girl escaping home to fulfill her father’s final wish. His other notable performances are Nigel in the thriller movie ‘Kill Victoria’ and Woody Markham in the Netflix supernatural drama series ‘October Faction.’ Bure and Dunne worked together in the Holiday drama ‘My Christmas Hero.’

The second film in the installment, ‘Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Yarn Maker,’ will center on the highly-anticipated arrival of the “Yarn Goddess” at a Bless Your Art event organized by Ainsley. Unfortunately, a fight breaks out between the elderly Mrs. Whedon and the Goddess at the event. The chaos takes a dark turn when the protagonist’s Great Dane, George Clooney, discovers the Goddess’ corpse in a booth. Mrs. Whedon naturally becomes the sole suspect, but the investigator knows better.
