Actor Ansel Elgort will arrive in the UK soon for his next feature. The filming of ‘If You Could See Me Now’ will take place there in September this year. Peter Segal will direct the thriller, based on a screenplay by Catherine Cort. No other cast member has been revealed yet.

Based on the 2005 novel by Cecelia Ahern, the story follows Elizabeth Egan, in whose life, everything, from the espresso cups in her gleaming kitchen to the swatches and paint pots of her interior-design business, has its place. Order and precision keep life under control and keep Elizabeth’s heart safe from the pain and hurt she has suffered in the past. Being a reluctant mother to her six-year-old nephew while trying to keep her design business on track is a full-time job for Elizabeth, and one that leaves little room for error or fun, until one day, when Ivan unexpectedly comes into their lives. The mysterious Ivan is carefree, spontaneous, and always seeking adventure: everything Elizabeth is not. Yet just when Elizabeth is starting to trust him, it turns out Ivan isn’t who she thought he was. Elgort will, in all probability, play Ivan.
Ansel Elgort is known for his performance as Baby in the action thriller ‘Baby Driver’ and Augustus in ‘The Fault in Our Stars.’ He also played Tony in Steven Spielberg’s musical drama ‘West Side Story’ and Joe Hunt in James Cox’s biographical drama ‘Billionaire Boys Club.’ His latest role is as Jake Adelstein, an American reporter for a Tokyo-based newspaper agency, in the HBO Max drama series ‘Tokyo Vice,’ which ended with Season 2 in 2024. In his upcoming projects slate are Abe Sylvia’s biographical drama ‘Dinner with Audrey,’ which follows the 40-year friendship between Audrey Hepburn (Thomasin McKenzie) and designer Count Hubert de Givenchy (Elgort); and Howard Deutch’s road trip comedy ‘Lucy Boomer,’ centering on the adventure of Jack Ritchie (Elgort), a young writer, a spirited 93-year-old Lucy Boomer (MacLaine), and a carefree hitchhiker Anna (Elizabeth Lail) during a wild road trip.
Peter Segal is a veteran director known for directing cult classic comedy movies like ‘50 First Dates,’ ‘The Longest Yard,’ ‘Get Smart,’ ‘Naked Gun 33+1⁄3: The Final Insult,’ ‘Anger Management,’ and ‘My Spy.’
