As a bold reality series that explores the significance of deep emotional connections in this modern world of casual hookups, Netflix’s ‘Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark‘ demands a binge-watch. That’s because it follows diverse individuals as they check into a motel in pursuit of true love, only to be faced with the question of whether their forever is with a past connection or someone new entirely. Amongst those to participate in season 1 of this one-of-a-kind experiment were Avery Wadbrook and Manny Garcia, two strangers who found themselves developing a very real spark over time.
Avery Wadbrook and Manny Garcia Took Their Time Before Going All In
It was evident that Manny Garcia was insanely attracted to Nicole Vinson from the moment he first came across our screens, only for his fire to dull when he saw his sneaky link, Samira Arellano. After all, having known her since high school and genuinely considering her a great friend even upon realizing she felt a lot more, he believed he owed it to her to give their bond a real chance. However, within days, he was certain there was no romantic depth between them, so he had a candid conversation with her before deciding to explore ties with both Nicole and Avery Wadbrook.
Manny actually approached Nicole first, but when given the opportunity to ask a fellow cast member on a date, he chose Avery owing to the simple fact that he found her bubbly nature alluring. The duo honestly had such a great time getting to know one another that they ended with a kiss, but he subsequently essentially told both women that they were his #1 to keep his options open. His two-timing endeavor didn’t last long, though, as the women soon talked about him to one another, resulting in him losing his chance with both. That is, until he finally looked inwards, recognized his mistakes, and started putting in efforts to make some much-needed behavioral changes.
Nicole didn’t give him a second try despite appreciating his eventual apology. Yet, as Avery realized she could be getting played again by another contestant, she found comfort in Manny’s company. The duo had formed a solid foundation in their initial short time together, driving them to slowly yet surely continue down this path until they were ready to really commit to one another. Their growth then came to light as well – he denied a date with bombshell Jacie Allain, she opened up to share her vulnerable side with him, and they even had a great meeting with their mothers. Therefore, when it was time for them to check out of the motel, they did so hand-in-hand.
Avery and Manny Are Still Likely Head Over Heels in Love
While neither Avery nor Manny has confirmed or denied anything regarding their relationship status as of writing, we believe they have managed to make their connection work in the real world. This is because, in addition to following one another on their respective social media platforms, they have indicated that they look back on their time at the motel with nothing but joy in their hearts. Then there is also the fact that even though the duo currently resides in different cities, they are not too far apart in the state of Texas, meaning long-distance isn’t particularly an issue for them. In other words, even if we think of the worst-case scenario in which they currently aren’t head over heels in love, they at least share an amicable, positive relationship. Yet, honestly, with their journey of self-growth and romance on the show, we are optimistic about their continued ties.
Avery and Manny Juggle a Life Full of Travel, Fun, and Hard Work
It was in 2016 that Avery enrolled at the University of Alabama to pursue a Bachelor’s in Communication and Media Studies while minoring in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. That’s the same year she kickstarted her career, too, by joining the United Nations as a part-time Executive Administrative Assistant for 10 months from September 2016 to June 2017. However, only after her 2020 graduation did she begin establishing a real career for herself, with her roles spanning from an entry-level Recruiter to a Sales Development Representative to a Talent Acquisition Partner to a Specialized Recruiter, across various companies.
Today, though, the 27-year-old proudly serves as a Business Recruiter at Metropolis Technologies in Nashville, Tennessee, all the while also enjoying her free time with loved ones. The beach lover seemingly has a great support system with whom she loves attending concerts or festivals like Stage Coach as well as traveling the world, which she believes further helps her grow on a personal level. Coming to Manny, he is actually a man of many hats, considering he reportedly served in the US Marine Corps upon graduating high school and then pursued further education to work as a traveling nurse. Yet, today, from what we can tell, the proud Houston resident is actively dedicating most of his time to earning a Juris Doctorate so as to practice law in his beloved Southern Texas one day.
On a more personal level, the 26-year-old certified medical professional is also a fitness and travel enthusiast, meaning whenever he is not working, he can be found at the gym or undertaking new adventures. From Cabo San Lucas in Mexico to ski resorts in California and Colorado, to different islands in Greece, he has been everywhere in the past few years, all the while maintaining his passion for outdoor activities. Hunting, fishing, and attending live events such as baseball matches, concerts, plus music festivals seem to be his go-to.
