Christmas will be coming early to British Columbia for Hallmark! Moviedelic has learned that the network has given the go-ahead to the TV movie ‘Booked For Christmas.’ The movie will start filming in Vancouver this month. Further details regarding the cast and crew remain under wraps.
The narrative revolves around a dedicated book editor who finds herself yearning for a change from her fast-paced, high-stress career. As the holiday season approaches, she decides it’s time for a break and seizes the opportunity to escape to a quaint town, where she accepts a temporary job at a charming local bookstore. On her first day, she meets the warm and friendly owner of the establishment, who is passionate about his work and has a genuine love for his town. Despite their contrasting backgrounds, the two begin to fall into a budding romance in the season of love.
Hallmark has recently greenlit several holiday movies to create a diverse lineup ahead of the Christmas season. ‘Confessions of a Christmas Letter,’ which will be filming in Vancouver in the coming months, narrates a multifaceted story about a struggling novelist who is hired by a family matriarch to help her win a letter-writing competition.
‘Holiday Touchdown,’ filming in Kansas this month, will follow a fourth-generation football fan seeking the coveted Fan of the Year Award. She intends to use the prize money to treat her hardworking family members to an unforgettable Christmas. The project has Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr. in the leading roles.
Two more Hallmark projects that are expected to be filmed in July are ‘Homecoming With Mrs. Miracle’ and ‘Five Gold Rings.’ Shooting in Victoria, British Columbia, ‘Homecoming With Mrs. Miracle’ spins a fantastical Christmas tale about an angel visiting three siblings fighting over the inheritance of their late grandmother’s real estate company. She uses her magic and gentle words to help the bickering siblings rediscover the importance of family, compassion, and love.
‘Five Gold Rings,’ helmed by Steven R. Monroe, is shooting in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The film follows a busy visual artist who returns to her quaint hometown to close her late grandmother’s antique shop. She soon finds that her loved one has left her with one final task: returning a lost antique to its rightful owner.
‘Booked For Christmas’ will be an addition to the impressive body of work that Hallmark has created within Vancouver. Among the network’s most popular filming destinations, the city and its surrounding regions have stood in for the backdrops of movies like ‘Sweeter Than Chocolate,’ ‘Napa Ever After,’ ‘Love & Jane,’ ‘Joyeux Noel,’ and ‘Fourth Down and Love.’
