Lifetime has bagged a murder mystery with an engrossing premise for its upcoming slate! Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the television film ‘Deadly Connection.’ The project will begin filming in Ottawa, Ontario, this month. The director attached to the project, as well as its cast and other crew members, are yet to be unveiled.
The TV movie revolves around a teenager and her stepmother, who set out to unravel the mystery behind the fate of the former’s father, who is lured to his death by an unknown caller imitating the child’s voice. The duo suspects that someone close to them can be responsible for the murder.
Another recently greenlit Lifetime movie, ‘Nobody Dumps My Daughter,’ also has an interesting family dynamic at its center. Set to begin shooting on July 22, 2024, the movie will introduce us to a mother and daughter who become increasingly dysfunctional through interference. The mother, already suffering from personal tragedy, learns about her daughter’s heart-wrenching breakup. She begins to intervene in her child’s personal affairs on her behalf and can barely hold back her seething anger toward the ex-boyfriend.
Ottawa is a frequent filming location on Lifetime’s map, with several of its thrillers utilizing the city’s picturesque urban landscape with stories of kidnappings, coercion, and murder. A recently released example is ‘Friday Night Sext Scandal,’ which is inspired by true events. The film follows a football athlete named Shawn, who joins Westmorland School’s team and begins to seek the approval of their core members after an unfortunate injury. The team members involve him in their secret activity of acquiring explicit pictures of their fellow female students and sharing them in a group repository.
Other intriguing Lifetime movies shot in and around Ottawa include ‘Our Mother’s Secret Affair,’ ‘Would You Kill for Me,’ ‘The Boarding School Murders,’ ‘My Husband’s Killer Affair,’ and ‘My Husband’s Worst Mistake.’
