The ending of ‘Delusion’ season 1 resolves the central mystery while still allowing the characters to hold a few aces up their sleeve. Wan discovers the secret behind the Phii Pong murders in light of her brother, Wat’s, confession. Yet, rather than alerting the authorities to his serial killer streak, the protagonist agrees to play by his rules. As such, while Wat stays on the loose, Narong, their father with dementia, takes the fall for his son. Still, some cycles of family trauma get broken when Wan decides to finally stop chasing after her parents’ love and approval.
Instead, Wan sets out to embrace a fresh start with her son, Aim. On the other hand, Officer Pete remains privy to the family’s sinister secrets. Nonetheless, he’s unable to bring the truth into the light and carry out any proper justice. Thus, the story finds a balanced ending of closure and ambiguity that the narrative can carry on to a potential season 2. Even though no news of renewal has yet arrived, if such a continuation is greenlit, the show could return in 2028.
Delusion Season 2 Can Follow the Progression of Wat’s Story
By the end of ‘Delusion’ season 1, Wat is revealed to be the actual killer behind the decades-spanning murders. Apparently, he developed and started showcasing psychopathic tendencies from a young age after accidentally causing the death of his childhood bully. Initially, his parents and his uncle covered up the crime for him. However, all this does is give him the confidence to commit a string of killings. The adults in his life continue to shield him from the repercussions by concocting the legend of the haunting of Phii Pong in the village. Ultimately, despite his parents’ best attempts, Wat continues to engage in serial killings over the year. Faced with the impossible idea of abandoning their son, Panee and Narong find themselves with no choice but to continue covering for him.

For the same reason, Narong accepts the criminal charges and ensuing imprisonment in his son’s stead. Meanwhile, Wat’s life remains as such, leaving him plenty of opportunity to continue taking lives under the cover of his medical profession. Therefore, in the event of a continuation of the story, the killer can be expected to remain a central part of the narrative. With his father confessing to the Phii Pong murders, he would no longer have a spiritual entity and the population’s inclination for superstition to rely on for a cover. As such, one wrong step could set Pete and his officers back on Wat’s scent, jumpstarting another game of cat-and-mouse chase.
Delusion Season 2 Will Likely Continue Circling Around the Same Characters
Despite its relatively conclusive ending, ‘Delusion’ leaves room open for a future continuation to pick up the narratives of its central character in the aftermath of the season 1 finale. Therefore, unless the series decides to go down an anthology route, there’s a high chance that many of the familiar faces from its first season will be returning for a potential second. This would include the central character Wan, leading Natapohn Phornprapha to reprise the role.

Additionally, characters like Wat (Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong) and Officer Pete (Jespipat Tilapornputt), as well as Aim, Wan’s young son. Depending on how much the series continues to center around the protagonist’s family, Surasak Chaiaat and Sirani Yankittikan could also step back into their roles as Narong and Panee, respectively. However, outside of these individuals, the show would have to recruit new faces into its cast list to progress the story further. Therefore, if the show gets renewed for a season 2, fans can expect some new characters to join the series.
Delusion Season 2 Can Explore Wan’s Complicated Relationship With Her Family
Wan’s narrative ends on a bittersweet note in ‘Delusion.’ Throughout the season, the protagonist grapples with her brother being overlooked by her mother. In the end, she is finally faced with the truth behind the sentiment and the reason for her mother’s preference for her children. This comes as an abrupt but necessary reality check that finally gives the single mother the motivation to leave her old life behind in search of a new one. As she drives into the sunset with her son, the conclusion of her storyline promises the end of traumatic generational cycles. A potential season 2 can delve into the reality of this desire to run away from one’s family.

Even as things stand, Wan has a complicated relationship with her father, Sarong, who killed her husband, Yote, in her defense. On the other hand, Wat promises to remain a dark shadow in her life. Lastly, the story’s hint about Wan’s own capability for darkness and violence continues to hang over her narrative. As a result, a resurgence of her brother as a serial killer and Pete’s investigation into it could potentially bring the protagonist back into the fold. By doing so, the series can also further develop the intriguing dynamic between Wan and Pete. The camaraderie and friendship between the two, paired with their opposing agendas, can be used as an effective tool to elaborate on their respective characterizations.
