Hallmark is busier than ever! The network has ordered the relationship drama ‘His & Hers.’ The television film will start shooting in Vancouver this month. Linda-Lisa Hayter is helming the TV movie based on a screenplay by Susan Black and Joie Botkin. Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott headline the cast.
The plot revolves around two lawyers whose seemingly strong marriage is tested when they find themselves on opposite sides of a high-profile divorce case, which quickly spirals into a media circus.
Hayter has previously helmed a handful of Hallmark projects, including ‘Unexpected Grace,’ ‘The Journey Ahead,’ ‘Five More Minutes,’ and ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made.’ Both Chabert and Elliott are Hallmark veterans. The former previously appeared in ‘A Merry Scottish Christmas,’ ‘The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango,’ and ‘The Wedding Veil Journey.’ The latter’s recent credits include ‘The Perfect Pairing,’ ‘Marry Go Round,’ and ‘The Gift of Peace.’
Hallmark has a handful of projects that have been awaiting the start of production or have started filming recently, including ‘Autumn’s Gift.’ Starring Ashley Williams and Hrothgar Mathews, the television film follows a woman who is struggling to get along with her difficult neighbors after moving to a new condo in Pittsburgh. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets the handsome building supervisor, leading to an intriguing and heartwarming journey as she navigates her new environment and relationships.
Another anticipated TV film is ‘A Dad For Christmas‘ by the filmmaker Jason Bourque. The holiday movie revolves around a 12-year-old Sunshine Scout who is determined to find a new romantic partner for her mother. The young Scout targets the attractive owner of a nearby bakery, leading to a series of heartwarming and humorous events.
Hallmark’s ‘Engaged to be Murdered,’ directed by David I. Strasser and written by Katherine Wagner, is an upcoming murder mystery that unfolds in a quaint small town. The story follows a local advice columnist who, armed with insider knowledge of the town’s secrets, tries to assist in solving a murder. However, her efforts lead to frequent clashes with the police detective assigned to the case, creating a compelling narrative filled with tension and intrigue.
’12 Clues of Christmas’ will also begin filming in Vancouver in June. Scripted by Stephanie Sourapas and Tom McCurrie, the plot centers on Avery and Lewis Plum, owners of a struggling candy store who are facing marital discord. To save their business and reconnect, Avery initiates a Christmas treasure hunt in Chicago. Despite initial doubts, Lewis participates, but the arrival of Avery’s ex-boyfriend Wes complicates matters. By dealing with challenges and misunderstandings, the couple rediscovers their love, ultimately winning the contest and securing their store’s future.
In addition to the extensive lineup of films and shows that are set to shoot in Vancouver, the region has previously hosted the filming of Hallmark projects such as ‘Love, Lights, Hanukkah!’ and ‘A Little Christmas Charm.’
