The second season of Netflix’s ‘FUBAR’ throws Luke Brunner and his team into a mission, failing which could mean the end of the world. The journey takes them to a lot of places, and they meet all kinds of people, some of whom become their friends while others are revealed as the enemy. In between all this, Aldon makes a friend who becomes immediately near and dear to him. It is a pig, and Aldon names him Hamsteak. While the duo has a lot of fun where they survive many death-defying situations, at the end of the day, the CIA is no place for an innocent pig. SPOILERS AHEAD.
Aldon Bids a Teary Goodbye to Hamsteak
Aldon crosses paths with Hamsteak at Todd Demps’ farm. Demps is the only person who knows the key locations that can be targeted to bring down America’s power grid and destroy the country and the world as we know it. This is why Luke and his team aren’t the only ones looking for him. Theodore Chips and his men arrive at the same place to get the same thing, and things escalate into a shootout where Aldon ends up meeting the pig, who also saves his life. Taking an immediate liking to the creature, the CIA agent names it Hamsteak, and the pig accompanies him for the rest of the mission.
There are several times when Hamsteak walks into the mouth of danger, and it looks like he or Aldon might not make it out. But at the end of the day, they survive all ordeals, and by the time the world is saved, Aldon comes to the realisation that, no matter how much he wants to, he cannot take Hamsteak with him everywhere. By this time, every member of his team has become familiar with their bond, and they all know how much Aldon loves the pig, which is why they also know how difficult it would be for him to part with the creature. Still, he knows that this is in the best interest of Hamsteak, and that is a better option than taking the pig into the heat of battle where he might die a horrible death.
Aldon Finds a Much Better Alternative for Hamsteak
At the end of the day, Aldon chooses to keep Hamsteak out of danger, but at the same time, he also wants the pig to go to a loving place where he will be taken care of, and Aldon wouldn’t have to worry about him. He finally finds that place in Emma’s brother’s house. While Luke and Emma are CIA agents, Emma’s brother, Oscar, has been kept away from this part of their lives for his own safety. When Boro sells the information about Luke and Emma, Oscar and his family are not included in it, which is why Luke, Emma, and even Tally, are told to keep them at an arm’s length, at least until the enemies have been identified and the target on their back has been removed.
This shows that Oscar’s house is a safe space, and at the same time, it also offers a loving place to the pig, especially in the form of Oscar’s daughter, Romi. Aldon knows the kid, and he also knows that she loves animals and would take good care of Hamsteak. So, he leaves his beloved pig with her. The goodbye is bittersweet, but he knows that the pet will be taken care of, and he can visit him whenever he wants to. He tries to keep it a secret from everyone else on the team, but the secret is revealed in a message that Romi sends to her grandparents and aunt after the dust settles on the Dante Cress case.
Interestingly, Emma is moved by Aldon’s actions, seeing that he didn’t abandon Hamsteak. Instead, he found a home for the pig, and at the same time, he also made Romi happy by giving her a pet she adores. This exhibits his sensitivity and care for the people and things he loves, and it makes Emma care for him too. Later, she asks him out to dinner, which means that while Aldon may have been forced to let go of Hamsteak, he might have gained something else in the process.
