The second season of Hulu and BBC’s comedy series ‘Am I Being Unreasonable?’ is all set to commence filming in Bristol, England, in the first quarter of 2024. The show follows Nic, a mother stuck in a depressing marriage, who is grieving a loss that she cannot share with anyone. She finds a kindred spirit in Jen, a woman who recently arrived in town, but soon their dark secret starts to bubble over.

The first season of the thriller series was also mainly filmed in Bristol, particularly at The Bottle Yard Studios. The city has facilitated the production of several other shows and films as well, including ‘A Discovery of Witches,’ ‘His Dark Materials,’ ‘Lark Rise to Candleford,’ ‘The Sixth Commandment,’ ‘Army of the Dead,’ ‘Being John Malkovich,’ and ‘The Duchess.’

The series was created by Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli, who also star in it as Nic and Jen respectively. Cooper is a BAFTA TV Award-winning actress known for her performances in the shows ‘Rain Dogs,’ ‘The Witchfinder,’ ‘This Country,’ and ‘Avenue 5.’ Hizli is recognized for her roles in ‘Grantchester,’ ‘Six Four,’ ‘Land Girls,’ ‘Appropriate Adult,’ and ‘Deadwater Fell.’ The cast also includes David Fynn (‘Undateable’ and ‘The Pembrokeshire Murders’) as Alex, Lenny Rush (‘The Dumping Ground’ and ‘Haunting of the Queen Mary’) as Ollie, and Ruben Catt (‘Ted’s Top Ten’) as Harry. The actors are expected to continue playing their roles in the second season.

Cooper and Hizli released a statement about the upcoming season and said, “When we first started writing this show we never dreamed it would get commissioned, let alone get another series. We’re so grateful to everyone who has watched it and we promise we will work our hardest to make the second series even better than the first. It’s gonna hit you with all the grace and decorum of a reversing dump truck without any tires on.”

‘Am I Being Unreasonable?’ premiered on BBC One in the United Kingdom in September 2022, followed by its release in the United States on Hulu in April 2023. The series met with critical acclaim and received a positive response from the audience, which led to its renewal for a second season. While the plot details of season 2 have been kept under wraps, it is expected to follow up on the events of the first season finale, in which it is revealed what happened between Nic and Alex on the train.

The show is produced by Boffola Pictures and Lookout Point. Speaking about the renewal of the show, Pippa Brown, Creative Director for Lookout Point, stated, “What a privilege to be able to work with Daisy and Selin and the hugely talented team on ‘Am I Being Unreasonable?’ again. It’s a giddy mix of joy and fear knowing where their comedically genius and genuinely terrifying brains will take Nic and Jen and the cast for a second series. We’re all very proud and happy to get going, thank you BBC.”
