When season 1 of Fox’s ‘The Snake‘ kicked off with its signature chaos and cutthroat gameplay, no one saw the connection between Jack Micco and MacLaine Funsch coming. Yet, amid the shifting alliances and strategies, something shifted as the latter was instantly intrigued by him. She gradually gravitated towards him, which only helped Jack come closer to her as the show progressed. They fell for each other so much that it turned their initial spark into a powerful connection. The most notable fact was that they had each other’s backs through every twist and turn.
Despite Their Initial Distance, Jack and MacLaine Grew Closer Over Time
From the beginning, MacLaine Funsch did not hide her feelings and made it evident that she was attracted to Jack Micco. On the other hand, he initially kept his guard high up, as he believed any emotional connection could impact his strategy or compromise his position in the game. As the days unfolded, he began to see MacLaine’s feelings towards him as an advantage in the game. However, it suddenly changed as he found his alliance with her was becoming an unwavering source of loyalty. While MacLaine began protecting Jack in every Saving Ceremony, Jack started considering her while making decisions.
When Jack and MacLaine felt they were in a tough spot before the Ceremony, he did not hesitate to tell her that he wanted her to keep fighting for both of them, even if he got eliminated. In episode 7, the latter found herself alone in the Snake Pit besides Kethryn. During that time, Jack even confessed how much MacLaine’s danger was taking a toll on him. It was also revealed that he had asked Brett to save her first in case the choice came down to her and Jack. However, the biggest revelation was that he invited MacLaine to meet his family in Austin, Texas, after the show.
Jack and MacLaine Have Seemingly Continued Working on Their Bond
When Jack was ready to give himself up willingly for MacLaine in the game, it highlighted how much she meant to him. Furthermore, the fact that she got excited when he wanted her to meet his family showcased that they were eager to pursue the connection beyond the show. As of writing, it seems that the connection between the reality stars has not fizzled out. While neither Jack nor MacLaine has denied or confirmed their relationship, they have certainly dropped hints. They still follow each other on Instagram, and their names frequently appear in each other’s comment sections. In April, MacLaine shared a picture of her cheerleading, in which he penned down his admiration, commenting, “Alright, alright, ALRIGHT!”
In June, Jack posted a throwback from the show on which MacLaine cheekily wrote, “Blue eyes get me.” The following month, she shared snapshots of them from the show, with a playful caption reading, “Another week of me pretending this is a dating show (kidding).” Under that, their former competitor and friend, Devonte lovingly wrote, “My favs!!!” to which she responded by calling him “wing man.” From what we can tell, these small signs may suggest that the bond between the duo may still be strong. It is not yet clear whether it’s the beginning of something lasting or a connection still taking shape. However, we do hope they continue navigating their relationship in the real world and soon take the next step.
