When Layla Taylor and Mason McWhorter started dating, it was a refreshing change for her. Layla Taylor and Mason McWhorter Had a Big Argument on Their New York Trip
Layla Taylor and Mason McWhorter began dating in July 2025. It was not an easy beginning, as Layla had previously dated Mason’s brother, Chase McWhorter, but she said she felt at ease with Mason. It was her first relationship since her divorce, and she was very happy. In season 4, Mason joined the DadTok group on their London trip, where he also spent time with Layla’s children and got a better understanding of her life. At one point, Mason tried to discipline her kids, which caused some friction between them, but they managed to work through it.
In season 5, Layla and Mason initially appeared to be a strong couple. She said she was happy with him and felt stable in the relationship. However, during their NYC trip, cracks began to show. When Layla told her friends she was planning to buy a Breitling watch, they became concerned. She revealed that she had already bought several expensive things, including a Cartier ring, clothes and suitcases. Layla explained that in relationships, she often felt she put in more effort and tried to compensate by giving more. Her friends felt she was giving too much. When Layla spoke to Mason about it, he defended himself, saying he often felt she pushed him away when she was struggling and did not allow him to get close to her. Layla later said they were able to talk through their issues and sort things out. However, after returning home, she tearfully revealed that she and Mason had broken up.
Layla Announced Her Breakup With Mason on TikTok
In February 2026, Layla Taylor posted a TikTok confirming that she and Mason McWhorter had broken up. She said that things had ended amicably between them, although she hinted that there was more to the story. The full scope of things was revealed in the show. Layla also said that she found out Mason had gone on another date less than a day after their breakup. She added that the two spoke for a while after ending things, but she did not change her mind about the decision. She has reflected on the breakup and said that she thinks things ended because he felt that he was just her boyfriend. Meanwhile, her friends have speculated that Mason was not comfortable with Layla being the primary breadwinner in their dynamics. Since then, Layla has not spoken much about the relationship. She has instead opened up about her bisexuality and shared that she is dating Kelsie Chesser.
