Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the television film ‘Starry Christmas.’ The project is gearing up for principal photography in Newmarket and Barrie in Ontario, starting in July. The plot revolves around a pop queen and a football player who fall in love. The cast and crew of the TV movie remain under wraps at this point.
Lifetime’s upcoming lineup also features ‘The Holiday Junkie,’ starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay. The TV film revolves around Andie, along with her mother, Mimi, who operates a beloved decorating and planning service. After Mimi’s passing, Andie faces the daunting task of carrying on The Holiday Junkie tradition alone, navigating her first Christmas without her mother. Amid the challenges, Andie embarks on a journey of self-discovery and, perhaps, unexpected romance, promising a poignant and uplifting holiday tale.
The network’s last year’s Christmas slate included projects like ‘Christmas at the Chalet,’ in which former TV host and socialite Lex navigates the complexities of spending Yuletide in a luxury chalet with her ex-husband and his new girlfriend. In a twist of fate, Lex volunteers to work at the chalet, capturing her experiences for her online followers. Directed by Lucie Guest, the television movie stars Teri Hatcher and William deVry.
Lifetime’s ‘A Christmas Exchange’ was previously filmed in the picturesque Newmarket region of Ontario under the direction of Justin G. Dyck. The TV movie follows Molly Cooper, who trades her snowy farmhouse for Patrick Kensington’s luxurious London apartment during the holiday season. As Molly immerses herself in British Christmas traditions, her correspondence with Patrick becomes increasingly delightful and romantic. Their virtual connection blossoms into a real-life romance as they explore each other’s lives and homes. By Christmas Day, Molly returns home to a newfound love and a transformed outlook on life.
Barrie previously hosted the shooting of ‘Christmas in Rockwell,’ directed by Amy Force. The film tells the story of a prominent Hollywood actress who returns to her hometown and crosses paths with a charming theatre manager. When he convinces her to join the local Christmas play, their collaboration brings the glamour and unpredictability of Hollywood to their small, close-knit community.
