Season 2 of Apple TV+’s ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ will be filmed in Los Angeles starting this December. David E. Kelley will be back as showrunner, with Dearbhla Walsh returning to direct the episodes.
The Season 1 finale (Episode 8), titled ‘Lock and Load,’ shows Margo and Mark Gable, the father of her child, Bodhi, battling it out in court. Margo has successfully passed the psych evaluation. However, Mark and his mother, Elizabeth, have the upper hand in the mediation meetings since Margo’s mother, Shyanne, broke Elizabeth’s jaw in the first meeting, displaying unruly and harmful behavior.
In the second mediation meeting, Margo ends up attacking Mark after the latter claims she is unfit for Bodhi’s custody, even after clearing a psychological evaluation, and questions her character and morality. He demands 50-50 custody and two-year supervision of Margo’s time with Bodhi. This does it for Margo, who lunges at him, and the case is taken to court.
In court, the scenario is dangerously against Margo, with her “questionable” profession, a drug addict father, Jinx, and a violent mother. Moreover, the judge, Andrew Spence, himself lost a custody battle, making Margo his less desirable party for the baby’s custody. However, in a surprising turn of events, Spence wants Bodhi to be held by his family members, and the baby, as expected, isn’t comfortable in Mark’s arms. As a result, Margo gets full custody of her child, and Mark receives biweekly visits, much to Margo’s relief, since she didn’t want Bodhi to grow up without his father.
Towards the end of the episode, it is revealed that it wasn’t Mark who called Child Protective Services on Margo, but her stepfather, Kenny, Shyanne’s current husband, who wanted to ensure Bodhi’s safety after Jinx’s relapse. It remains to be seen how this affects Kenny’s relationship with Margo’s family. Margo decides to go full frontal nude and increase the income from her OnlyFans account. The money will help with household requirements, healthcare, and Bodhi’s future. The finale ends with her receiving a series of tips from a user named JB as she prepares for the nude photoshoot. In the book, on which the series is based, JB is one of Margo’s clients and later on becomes her love interest.
Considering how Season 1 of ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ ends, cast members expected to return in Season 2 include Elle Fanning as Margo Millet, Michelle Pfeiffer as Margot’s mother Shyanne Millet, Nick Offerman as Margot’s father Jinx Millet, Nicole Kidman as Margot’s lawyer Lace, Greg Kinnear as Shyanne’s current husband Kenny, Thaddea Graham as Margot’s roommate Susie, and Marcia Gay Harden as Mark’s mother, Elizabeth Gable, along with Lindsey Normington and Rico Nasty as Margo’s co-OnlyFans models Rose and KC respectively.
