Miles Teller and Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Winter Games’ Starts Filming in Montreal in November

Miles Teller and Hailee Steinfeld will be joining forces in Quebec for their next project. The filming of ‘Winter Games,’ a sports feature, will take place in Montreal, Quebec, between November this year and February of 2027. Paul Downs Colaizzo will direct, based on a script by Colaizzo and Pat Cunnane. The story is set in the high-stakes arena of the Winter Olympic Games. It follows a perpetually overlooked skier and a self-sabotaging hockey legend who collide at their breaking points. Their unexpected connection threatens her chance for a medal and his shot at a comeback as they navigate romance and redemption in the Olympic Village.

Miles Teller is the breakthrough star of Damien Chazelle’s musical drama ‘Whiplash.’ His fans also know him as Peter Hayes from the ‘Divergent’ movies. His more recent acting credits include Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ Levi in the Apple TV+ movie ‘The Gorge,’ Larry Cutler in ‘Eternity,’ and John Branca in ‘Michael.’ We will next see him as Irwin Pearl, an engineer, in James Gray’s crime drama ‘Paper Tiger,’ which will be released on November 13, 2026.

Hailee Steinfeld rose to fame with her performance as Emily Junk in ‘Pitch Perfect 2.’ She returned as the character in ‘Pitch Perfect 3.’ She played Charlie Watson in ‘Bumblebee,’ Kate Bishop in ‘Disney+’s ‘Hawkeye,’ a character she voiced in the animated shows ‘What If…?’ and ‘Marvel Zombies.’ She also voiced Gwen Stacy in ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ Her recent performance as Mary in Ryan Coogler’s horror film ‘Sinners’ earned her widespread appreciation from critics and audiences. Her next project is the Disney animated movie ‘Hexed,’ in which she has voiced Billie Doe, the teen protagonist who discovers magical abilities that transport her to the realm of witches. It will be released theatrically on November 25, 2026.

Paul Downs Colaizzo made his feature directorial debut with the comedy movie ‘Brittany Runs a Marathon,’ starring Jillian Bell as Britanny, a young woman who decides to make positive changes in her life by training for the New York City Marathon. ‘Winter Games’ will be his second project as a director.
