Nelly Knows Mysteries Sequel ‘All Manners of Murder’ in the Works at Hallmark

The sequel to a 2024 Hallmark movie is in the works! Moviedelic has learned that the network has ordered ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder,’ the follow-up film to the popular mystery flick ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement.’ The filming of the project will start in Vancouver, British Columbia, in April 2025. Pascale Hutton will reprise the titular character. The movie’s crew remains under wraps.

‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder’ builds on the intrigue of ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement’ but takes Nelly’s sleuthing skills into an entirely new arena. In the first film, Nelly finds herself drawn into a murder investigation when her childhood friend’s fiancé is killed, forcing her to unravel secrets from her own past. Now, in the sequel, Nelly takes on a more personal case, helping a wealthy widow reconnect with her estranged family—only to become entangled in an entirely different kind of mystery when the lawyer handling the widow’s will is murdered.

Unlike the first film, which revolved around uncovering hidden truths within Nelly’s social circle, ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder’ is speculated to thrust her into a high-stakes family drama filled with long-buried secrets and deception. As tensions rise and suspicions grow, Nelly must again rely on her sharp instincts and investigative skills to solve a case in which everyone involved has something to hide. The cast, aside from Hutton, has yet to be announced. However, Kavan Smith, who played the pivotal character of Michael Hogan in the first film, may appear in the sequel.

Hutton, who reprises her role as Nelly Parker in the sequel, is a seasoned actress with over 60 credits to her name. She is best known for portraying Rosemary Coulter in Hallmark’s Western drama series ‘When Calls the Heart.’ The performer has been a familiar face on Hallmark for years, having starred in multiple films such as ‘The Perfect Bride’ and ‘The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells’ as Molly White, ‘My One & Only’ as Stephanie, ‘You Had Me at Aloha’ as Paige, and ‘Fourth Down and Love’ as Erin Allen. Beyond ‘When Calls the Heart’ and ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement,’ her most recent credit includes ‘The Wish Swap,’ another Hallmark movie, in which she played Coach Gloria.

Other Hallmark movies filmed in Vancouver include ‘Love, Lights, Hanukkah!’ ‘A Little Christmas Charm,’ and ‘Christmas She Wrote.’
