The filming of the upcoming K-drama series ‘Doctor Slump’ has begun in Sinchon, South Korea. The medical drama follows two people who find each other in the most challenging moments of their lives. Yeo Jeong-woo is a former renowned plastic surgeon whose life takes a drastic turn for the worse following a surgical accident. Nam Ha-neul, on the other hand, is an anesthesiologist who one day realizes that her life lacks any meaning beyond her hectic hospital duties.

The shoot of the show is going on in the Sinchon region of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where actors Park Hyung-sik and Yoon Park were spotted filming scenes of the series. Seoul has earlier facilitated the filming of several K-dramas, including ‘Nineteen to Twenty,’ ‘Boys Over Flowers,’ ‘Find Me in Your Memory,’ ‘Temperature of Love,’ and ‘One Spring Night.’ The city has also served as a filming location for several English-language productions including ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Star Trek Beyond,’ ‘The Bourne Legacy,’ and ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever.’

The romantic comedy series is written by Baek Sun-woo, known for writing/co-writing ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,’ ‘Ugly Miss Young Ae,’ ‘A Poem a Day,’ ‘My Roommate is a Gumiho,’ and ‘High Kick: The Revenge of the Short Legged.’ Oh Hyun-jong serves as the director of the show. He previously directed ‘The One and Only,’ ‘Find Me in Your Memory,’ ‘A Thousand Kisses,’ ‘A Daughter Just Like You,’ and ‘A New Leaf.’

‘Doctor Slump’ stars Hyung-sik as Yeo Jeong-woo and Park Shin-hye as Nam Ha-neul, marking the two actors’ reunion after the 2013 series ‘The Heirs.’ Hyung-sik’s other acting credits include ‘High Society’, ‘Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth’, and ‘Strong Girl Bong-soon.’ Shin-hye is renowned for her roles in ‘Memories of the Alhambra,’ ‘Sisyphus: The Myth,’ ‘The Doctors,’ ‘My Cute Guys,’ and ‘High Kick Through the Roof.’

The show also features Yoon Park (‘Forecasting Love and Weather’ and ‘Fanletter Please’) as Jeong-woo’s college rival Bin Dae-yeong, Kong Seong-ha (‘Through the Darkness’ and ‘First Child’) as Ha-neul’s best friend Lee Hong-ran, and Jang Hye-jin (‘More Than Family’ and ‘My Lovely Angel’) as Ha-neul’s mother. Hyun Bong-sik (‘Three Sisters’ and ‘The Ghost Detective’) also stars in an undisclosed role. The show is expected to premiere on JTBC sometime in 2023. However, the exact release date has not been unveiled as of now.
