‘Rust‘ is a Western drama movie that centers around a 13-year-old boy who gets involved in the accidental killing of a local rancher and receives the death sentence for it. His estranged grandfather reaches out to him and helps him run away from a merciless bounty hunter. Written and directed by Joel Souza, the film is brought to life by the stellar performances from Alec Baldwin, Patrick Scott McDermott, Josh Hopkins, Frances Fisher, and Travis Fimmel. During the production in 2021, it made headlines when the cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, was killed on set by a prop gun that Baldwin was using.

Set in the 1880s in Wyoming, the narrative follows a 13-year-old boy named Lucas Hollister who is forced to lead a life full of responsibility after his parents’ deaths, as he also takes care of his brother. When a local rancher is accidentally killed by the boy, the recently orphaned Lucas is sentenced to hang. In an unexpected turn of events, his estranged grandfather, Harland Rust, not only helps his incarcerated grandson escape jail but also takes him on the run to Old Mexico, while being chased down by the authorities as well as a bounty hunter named Fenton “Preacher” Lang.
Is Rust on Netflix?
