Using a house exchange website called WanderNest, she swaps homes with another woman named Aurora who lives in Greece. Upon arrival at her new stay, she is provided a tour by Aurora’s attractive handyman, Niko. As fate would have it, love soon blooms between the two. However, mysterious incidents soon start to occur, raising doubts in Anna’s mind about her new home and Niko. The exploration of a new place to call home requires appropriate visuals underscored by beauty that yet carries a mystery within.

Where Was A Home to Die For Filmed?

‘A Home to Die For’ was filmed entirely in Greece, specifically in Athens. Under the working title ‘Home Exchange Nightmare,’ principal photography reportedly began on April 15, 2024, and took place over 12 days before wrapping up on April 27 the same year. While the team was in Athens for a short period, they had a blast on and off set while filming near some of Athens’ most iconic landmarks. Actress Brianna Cohen, who plays Anna, took to social media and expressed her gratitude to the entire “A Home to Die For’ family. Not ready to let go of my new Greek family…I’m not crying, you’re crying,” she stated.

Athens, Greece

Athens, the capital city of Greece, became the base for the shooting of ‘A Home to Die For.’ From the streets to the various neighborhoods to the historical landmarks, including the Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis, the crew captured it all to showcase the city while establishing the new world Anna finds herself in. A few homes were also rented for filming indoor scenes, including a villa on a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. The city was also captured from various wide angles for establishing shots. While the myriad colors add contrast to the film and enhance the visuals, they also work together as an underlying contradiction to whatever Anna is undergoing. A few scenes that take place in America were seemingly recreated as well, using fake Californian number plates on cars.

Athens is a necessary addition to any traveler’s list owing to its reputation as one of the world’s oldest cities. A global epicenter of arts and philosophy, it is home to some of the greatest philosophers and artists in recorded history, like Plato, Socrates, Cleisthenes, Solon, and Pericles. If you are into the arts as well, you can visit the Acropolis Museum, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Museum of Cycladic Art, and Technopolis. For those looking to explore the historical aspects of the city, head to the Acropolis of Athens, Monastiraki Square, Zappeion, the Old Royal Palace, and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Athens’ urban landscape includes the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Onassis Stegi, the Blue Condominium, and Agemar Maritime Headquarters.
