Under the direction of Jonah Feingold, ‘Busboys’ is a comedy movie that centers on two lifelong friends, Markie Montgomery and Steefen ‘Steef’ Barn, with plenty of hurdles in their personal lives. Looking for a way to solve all their issues, the duo comes across a busboy job and believes that becoming waiters can potentially help them climb the social ladder and get them out of their financial slump. As time passes, Markie and Steef realize they weren’t exactly right to think their new job would solve their troubles. The hilarious misadventures of the two friends unfold in a quaint border town in Arizona, where they begin working at a chaotic restaurant and somehow find themselves in even more trouble.
Busboys Filming Locations
Although ‘Busboys’ is set in a small town in Arizona, its shooting took place entirely in Los Angeles County, California. From what we can tell, principal photography for the comedy film got underway in January 2025 and went on for several weeks before wrapping up in February of the same year. One of the crew members, Livia Pillman, shared a few words of gratitude and appreciation after the shooting concluded. She said, “Had an absolute blast working on this film — I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much on set! 🎬🔥 Such an epic group of creatives — Busboys forever! Huge shoutout to Theo Von, David Spade, and the entire cast and crew — you all crushed it.”
Los Angeles County, California
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles County is known for its vast and versatile landscapes, including arid and rugged terrains, making it an ideal stand-in for the small Arizonian town in ‘Busboys.’ Most of the pivotal sequences for the Jonah Feingold directorial were lensed in the city of Pomona, located 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The cast and crew reportedly set up camp on various streets and in businesses across the city to depict the comedy film’s fictional setting. From what we can tell, a few portions were also taped in the city of Los Angeles.
Furthermore, numerous exterior and interior scenes for ‘Busboys’ were recorded in the suburban city of Santa Clarita, with the production team making the most of its rugged, hilly terrains. In particular, the filming unit took over Bridgeport Park at 23521 Bridgeport Lane and the surrounding areas to shoot many outdoor scenes for the David Spade starrer. On his Substack, the director Jonah Feingold wrote, “We shot it during the LA fires. A genuinely devastating time for the city — especially for the creative community. We pushed our shoot. Several crew members were directly affected, and we all felt very thankful to be employed and working (on a comedy!).”
