Created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, Prime Video’s ‘Citadel’ is a spy action thriller series that revolves around three skilled and elite operatives — Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh, and Bernard Orlick — from a legendary agency. Their lives are turned upside down when the agency is destroyed by a ruthless network called Manticore, run by some of the most powerful families in the world. In season 2, Mason, Nadia, and Bernard must join forces again as another dangerous threat emerges.
To defeat a new set of enemies, the trio enlists the help of another team of new operatives. Together, they embark on a globe-trotting mission to save humanity from a conspiracy that could plunge the world into even deeper darkness. Set in the United Kingdom, the high-octane tale unfolds in London and other parts of the world, where Mason, Nadia, and Bernard must rely on their skills to save themselves from deadly situations.
Citadel Season 2 Filming Locations
‘Citadel’ season 2 was filmed primarily across England, particularly in London and Oxfordshire. According to reports, principal photography for the sophomore round of the action show got underway in September 2024 and went on for more than two months before wrapping up in late November of the same year. A few days after the conclusion of the shooting process, Priyanka Chopra, who portrays Nadia Sinh, thanked her cast and crew for supporting her throughout the production. She stated, “I wrapped Citadel season 2!! This year has been a whirlwind for me but to be surrounded by so much love and support makes everything easier. I’m so grateful to the cast and crew and especially my team who propped me up.”
London, England
The majority of the shooting of season 2 of ‘Citadel’ was conducted in the sprawling metropolis of London, taking full advantage of the city’s dynamic urban landscape. In the capital of England and the UK, the team was spotted taping in the streets of Shoreditch in the London Borough of Hackney in East London. Dubbed a “living art gallery,” the district is renowned for its vibrant street art and eclectic culture, featuring striking murals and other creative pieces that contribute to the rich visual aesthetic of the narrative.
In addition, filming of a high-octane action sequence was carried out on a street in the Canary Wharf area, situated in the Isle of Dogs within the borough of Tower Hamlets. Thus, it is likely that the towering skyscrapers, expansive plazas, shopping malls and well-designed public spaces in the central business district also make an appearance in the backdrop.
Oxfordshire, England
For the purpose of filming some pivotal sequences, the cast and crew also visited Oxfordshire in South East England. In particular, the production team made use of The Great Court at Blenheim Palace, just outside the town of Woodstock. Framed by the grand facades and architecture, the majestic Baroque courtyard provided a cinematic setting for the production of the key scenes. The open court is well-suited for the taping of dramatic entrances and large-scale shots. Its layout also proved ideal to lens the shots of ‘Citadel’ season 2 that required a controlled environment, precision in camera staging and movement as well as seamless production logistics.
