Helmed by Bruno Hernández and Damián Romay, Lifetime’s ‘Dancing with a Murderer’ is a thriller that centers on a marketing executive named Nora, whose life is upended at a gala. What is supposed to be a memorable masquerade ball ends up being a horrific night for her, as a murder takes place and she receives a series of chilling death threats for the following months. When Nora’s ailing mother decides to attend the same masquerade event the following year, she is forced to confront her fears and the stalker, who seems to be targeting her mother. In order to protect her mother, she puts her life on the line by playing the mysterious killer’s game once again. The suspenseful tale of deceit unfolds mostly in and around the venue of the masquerade event, where the killer’s identity and other dark secrets remain hidden.

Where Was Dancing with a Murderer Filmed?

Production on ‘Dancing with a Murderer’ took place entirely in Kentucky, particularly in and around Louisville. According to reports, principal photography for the Lifetime production commenced in early May 2025 under the working title ‘A Dance with Death’ and went on for more than a couple of weeks before wrapping up in the last week of the same month. Andrew Fultz took to social media to express his gratitude for being a part of the project, stating, “Such a great experience, such a great team, and so much fun getting to come back to my hometown to do what I love!”

Louisville, Kentucky

Filming of ‘Dancing with a Murderer’ took place extensively in the scenic city of Louisville, Kentucky. Nestled along the Ohio River, it exudes Southern charm, reflected in its striking mix of historic architecture and contemporary urban spaces. Therefore, it is not surprising that the production team of the thriller chose the vibrant city as a filming location. The cast and crew likely visited several spots in the region to paint the visual canvas of Nora’s world as she returns to her idyllic hometown, which harbors dark secrets, totally unaware that her life is about to take a dangerous turn.

As the aspiring fashion designer embarks upon a quest to unravel the truth and save her ailing mother from impending danger, the movie takes us through several settings, ranging from the masquerade charity ball to Nora’s home and hospital to Dom’s house. The city’s versatile landscape enabled the team to bring these varied settings to life within a uniform visual aesthetic, thereby tightening the film’s atmospheric tension and emotional depth. Aside from the aforementioned Lifetime movie, Louisville has also hosted the production of many movies and television shows over the years. ‘Carolina Caroline,’ ‘Dead Man’s Wire,’ ‘Amber Alert,’ ‘Just Breathe,’ ‘Mom and Dad,’ and ‘Rapture’ are some of the titles that utilized the city as a filming site.

Aubree Bouché and Andrew Fultz lead the cast of ‘Dancing with a Murderer’ as they bring the enthralling narrative to life through their impressive performances. The former also has musical talents, which she has showcased on ‘Samurai Blue: Afterimage.’ On the other hand, Andrew has served as an executive producer on ‘Night Lights’ and ‘Danny Boy.’

Aubree Bouché as Nora

In ‘Dancing with a Murderer,’ Aubree Bouché steps into the character of Nora, the aspiring fashion designer who is forced to face a relentless killer while trying to safeguard her mother and expose a deadly conspiracy. You may recognize the actress from her portrayal of the titular character in ‘Beta,’ Helene in ‘The Witch Pricker and the Hare,’ and Amélie Didot in ‘A Dangerous Affair.’ Aside from these shorts, she is also known for her role as Shadow on ‘General Hospital.’ ‘The Diamond Ring,’ ‘Stop Driving Through Life with Your Headlights Off,’ ‘Coffee Break,’ ‘Out of This World,’ ‘Going Mental,’ ‘Getting Over You,’ ‘Hoods,’ and ‘Lemonade’ are other short films that showcase her acting skills.

Andrew Fultz as Dom Carter

Andrew Fultz essays the role of Dom, the charming but enigmatic caterer, in the thriller movie. He is widely recognized for his performances in ‘Rift’ as Interpol Jim, ‘Neon Bleed’ as Security Contractor, ‘Wild West Chronicles’ as Detective William Smit, ‘Horchata with Oatmilk’ as Hipster Dad, and the short ‘Night Lights’ as Jack. Throughout his career, Andrew has demonstrated his acting prowess through layered characters, often driven by morally complex motivations. He has a penchant for playing morally complex characters with shades of gray.
