With Michael Robison at the helm, Hallmark’s ‘Toast to Italy’ is a romantic drama movie that follows a doctor of Italian descent named Jenny. As her sister’s grand wedding approaches, she travels to Italy to find a special bottle of wine called Love Wine, a symbol of good luck. During her search, she crosses paths with a charming journalist named Arrigo, who is also seeking the same bottle of wine. A rivalry soon forms between the two as they race against each other to get their hands on the wine. However, along the way, their rivalry soon turns into romance as they get to know each other. The romantic tale unfolds in an Italian town, with the rolling hills and vineyards in the background elevating the visual narrative and making the love story all the more colorful.

Where Was Toast to Italy Filmed?

‘Toast to Italy’ was filmed mostly on location in Italy, especially in Orvieto and the Province of Viterbo. From what we can tell, principal photography for the Hallmark production took place in the month of May 2026, over the course of a few weeks. Orvieto, Italy

A major chunk of ‘Toast to Italy’ was lensed in the city of Orvieto, situated in Italy’s Province of Terni in the region of Umbria. In order to ensure smooth filming, the production team collaborated with the local authorities and the Mobility Department of the Municipality of Orvieto. It allowed them to tape pivotal indoor and outdoor sequences in and around the Orvieto Cathedral in Piazza del Duomo, 26, and Fortezza Albornoz in Via Postierla, 301.

Moreover, several streets and alleys of Orvieto’s Medieval Quarter and Historic Center were transformed into film sets. For instance, the cast and crew were reportedly spotted recording key portions on Via Malabranca, Via del Duomo, Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, Piazza San Giovanni, Via Cipriano Manente, and Via Pianzola. The scenic cityscape of the area features in the establishing and aerial shots, allowing you to spot several popular landmarks and buildings, such as Pozzo di San Patrizio, Palazzo dei Sette, and the Palazzo Comunale. Other notable movies shot in Orvieto are ‘Rome Adventure’ and ‘I nostri mariti.’

Other Locations in Italy

For the purpose of shooting, the filming unit of ‘Toast to Italy’ also traveled to other parts of Italy, including the Province of Viterbo. To be specific, they set up camp in the village of Civita di Bagnoregio, which is also known as the Dying City. You are likely to spot numerous popular attractions located in the village, such as the Alemanni Palace, the Bishop’s Palace, and the church of San Donato. To depict the train journey of Jenny and Arrigo towards Italy, the production team also recorded an aerial shot of a railway bridge in Italy.

The cast of ‘Toast to Italy’ is led by the compelling and chemistry-filled performances of Torrey DeVitto and Will Kemp, who helped bring the narrative to life. Hailing from Huntington, New York, Torrey was born into a family with ties to the entertainment industry. After learning to play the violin, she also began modeling and appearing in commercials by her teens. As for Will, he is also a trained dancer who has featured in Broadway and West End productions, as well as several theater productions.
