Helmed by Bradley Walsh, Hallmark’s ‘Love Under the Mistletoe’ is a holiday romantic drama movie that centers on a young, talented interior designer named Grace, who runs a small business with her brother and her best friend in the peaceful town of Ivy Glen. Occupied by her profession, she hardly gets time to socialize and get into a romantic relationship. However, things begin to change in her life when her former high school crush, Ryan, a successful financial advisor based in New York City, travels to his hometown to sell his grandmother’s St. Nicholas House.
When Ryan is given the responsibility to revive a beloved charity fundraiser called Ribbons and Bows, he enlists the help of Grace. As the two join forces to organize the event and reminisce about their high school days, their old feelings rekindle, leading to a romantic reunion. The tale unfolds in the fictional town of Ivy Glen, which becomes all the more heartwarming as Grace and Ryan’s romance sparks back into life.
Where Was Love Under the Mistletoe Filmed?
‘Love Under the Mistletoe’ was filmed in its entirety in Ontario, specifically in and around North Bay. According to reports, principal photography for the Hallmark production got underway on August 1, 2024, under the working title ‘Operation Mistletoe’ and wrapped up after more than two weeks on August 17, 2024.
North Bay, Ontario
The seat of Nipissing District, North Bay, served as the primary production location for ‘Love Under the Mistletoe.’ The filming team set up camp in and around the city to lens various indoor and outdoor scenes. The downtown area, including the businesses on Main Street, feature in the backdrop of numerous portions as the cast and crew members transformed the area into a film set. It is likely that they utilized the facilities of a sound stage of a film studio located in or around North Bay. Other notable movies shot in the city include ‘A Harvest Homecoming,’ ‘Christmas on Windmill Way,’ ‘Colors of Love,’ ‘Christmas at the Drive-In,’ ‘Flower Shop Mystery: Dearly Depotted,’ and ‘Last Chance for Christmas.’

Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman lead the cast of ‘Love Under the Mistletoe’ and bring its romantic tale with their chemistry-filled performances. Besides being a talented actor, the former has also served as an executive producer for ‘Paris Christmas Waltz,’ ‘Where Your Heart Belongs,’ ‘Mingle All the Way,’ ‘Royally Wrapped for Christmas,’ ‘Yes, I Do,’ and ‘A Paris Proposal.’ On the other hand, Nick is a karate enthusiast who has won four world titles in martial arts. He also ran his own karate school for about three years before pursuing his passion for acting. Their collective experience shines through in every scene, allowing them to embody their respective characters effortlessly.

Jen Lilley steps into the role of Grace Rankin, the interior designer, in ‘Love Under the Mistletoe.’ She is best known for her work as Gloria Stewart in ‘Jimmy,’ Theresa Donovan in ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Kate in ‘The Spirit of Christmas,’ Maxie Jones in ‘General Hospital,’ Natalie Cardin in ‘Youthful Daze,’ Emma in ‘Paris Christmas Waltz,’ and an Onlooker in the Academy Award-winning film, ‘The Artist.’ She is a Hallmark regular, having donned the garb of Ruby in ‘A Royal Setting,’ Nikki Turner in ‘A Dash of Love,’ Molly Hoffman in ‘Mingle All the Way,’ Cassie in ‘Winter Love Story,’ Kate Daniels in ‘Snowkissed,’ and Isabella Ricci in ‘Paris, Wine & Romance,’ among several others.
Nick Bateman as Ryan
In the Hallmark production, Nick Bateman essays the character of Ryan, the NYC-based financial advisor and Grace’s romantic interest. You may recognize him from his performance as Wyatt Parker in ‘When Hope Calls,’ Ian Hunter in ‘The Matchmaker’s Playbook,’ Ian Furmanek in ‘The Listener,’ Lance in ‘Originals,’ Ivan/Rip in ‘Hobo with a Shotgun,’ as well as Gambit in the short film, ‘Gambit: Playing for Keeps.’ His other notable credits include his portrayal of Max Hughes in ‘A Brush with Love,’ Lucas Pierce in ‘A Wedding Wonderland,’ Mr. Smith in ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith Parody,’ and Connor Sheenan in ‘A Christmas Miracle for Daisy.’ The supporting cast of ‘Love Under the Mistletoe’ is made up of a talented ensemble that includes Steve Belford as Jack, Melanie Leishman as Melanie, and René Escobar Jr.
