Based on George R. R. Martin’s 2018 book ‘Fire & Blood,’ HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ serves as the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones. The fantasy thriller drama series is set nearly two centuries before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and centers on the internal succession war within House Targaryen. In season 3 of the Ryan J. Condal and George R.R. Martin creation, Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen decide to join forces after the former makes peace with her in Dragonstone. In exchange for letting Rhaenyra seize the Iron Throne and take Aegon Targaryen’s head, Alicent, her daughter Helaena, and granddaughter Jaehaera get to taste freedom. The political tale unfolds in the fictional Westeros, which turns into a warzone during the civil war between the Targaryens.

During a conversation with FluxFM, Emma D’Arcy, who portrays Rhaenyra Targaryen, revealed that she had undergone surgery before the shooting began. And so, I was hopping about on crutches for the first three months in all my frocks.”

The production team of ‘House of the Dragon’ season 3 returned to the Warner Bros.
