From the mind of Conor Keane, Prime Video’s ‘Kill Jackie’ is a crime thriller series based on the novel titled ‘The Price You Pay’ by Nick Harkaway. The narrative centers on a wealthy art dealer named Jackie Price, who was once an international queenpin known for dealing cocaine. Over the past two decades, she has built a luxurious life for herself by selling art through tax schemes, earning a fortune in the process.
Suddenly, her life of anonymity and luxury is disrupted when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a deadly squad of hitmen called The Seven Demons. Instead of running away and going into hiding, Jackie decides to catch them by surprise and hunt down each hitman in her quest for revenge. In the action show, the ex-cocaine dealer goes on a globe-trotting journey to survive the hitmen’s attacks and kill them one by one in different settings.
Kill Jackie Filming Locations
‘Kill Jackie’ is filmed in Spain, Portugal, Wales, and England, particularly in the Basque Country, Navarra, Lisbon, Swansea, and London. According to reports, principal photography for the debut season of the action series commenced in March 2025 and went on for about 20 weeks before wrapping up in August of the same year.
Basque Country, Spain
A majority of the pivotal sequences for ‘Kill Jackie’ were lensed across the autonomous community of the Basque Country, situated in the northern region of Spain. To be specific, the city of Bilbao and the surrounding areas served as prominent production locations for the Prime Video series. Multiple landmarks and popular attractions are featured, including the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao at Abandoibarra Etorb., 2, in the Abando district, the Campo Volantin Bridge across the Nervión River, and Albiako Lorategiak at Albia Lorategia, 2, in the heart of the Abando district.
During the shooting process, the cast and crew members were also spotted taping important scenes in numerous restaurants in the Bilbao area, such as Lasai Restaurante at Calle Príncipe 4, Restaurante La Revelía at Calle Aldana, 29, in Amorebieta, and Restaurante Farketa 56 at Rodríguez Arias K., 56, in the Abando district. The filming unit also took over the city and municipality of Getxo, where the Palacio Lezama-Leguizamón in Algorta hosted the production of ‘Kill Jackie.’ In addition, the Getxo Cruise Terminal appeared to stand in for an airport during an explosion scene. For the purpose of shooting, they also reportedly traveled to Gaztelugatxe, located on the coast of the Bay of Biscay.
During a conversation with Condé Nast Traveler, Executive Producer Peter Lawson opened up about shooting ‘Kill Jackie’ in Bilbao. He stated, “Bilbao felt fresh, somewhere we hadn’t really seen on screen in its own right. Often the city has doubled for other places purely to access the tax credit, but no one had really shot Bilbao as Bilbao and the production value it offers is outstanding. One of our opening shots has a drone coming off the bridge, revealing Catherine Zeta-Jones in a cocktail dress walking past the Guggenheim, one of the most iconic buildings in the world. That was a pinch yourself moment filming that.”
Adding to it, the director, Damon Thomas, also said, “As a director, you’re always searching for unusual, characterful spaces to film in, and Bilbao offered that in abundance. Before this project, my knowledge of the city was fairly limited beyond the Guggenheim Museum, which we absolutely had to feature, but what really surprised me was how many extraordinary locations the city has beyond that.” Apart from the Basque Country, the production team also utilized the rugged terrains of Bardenas Reales in the autonomous community of Navarre.
Lisbon, Portugal
The capital of Portugal — Lisbon — also served as a prominent production location for ‘Kill Jackie.’ Its rich architecture, consisting of modern, Gothic, and Romanesque constructions, can be spotted in the backdrop of various exterior shots, such as the Vasco da Gama Tower, the Parque das Nações, the Campo Pequeno Bullring, Belém Tower, and the Cathedral of Saint Mary Major.
Swansea, Wales
Catherine Zeta-Jones, who portrays Jackie Price, got the opportunity to return to the place where she spent her childhood — the coastal city of Swansea in southwest Wales — to tape key portions for the Prime Video production. The cast and crew members were spotted shooting important scenes in and around the North Road Service Station on Cilibion Park Farm and the Monkstone Cruising & Sailing Club in the village of Skewen, right outside Swansea. The filming unit also transformed Pant Street in the Port Tennant district into a film set. In the aforementioned interview, Catherine shared: “It was great to go back to Swansea, back to streets that I remember.”
She added, “The first thing I did was go to Johnnies, my favorite fish and chip shop, and Joe’s Ice Cream – their Welsh classic vanilla is phenomenal, and I highly recommend people head to Swansea for them. We filmed very close to where I went to dancing school and where my grandmother was brought up, nearby to where my auntie went to church – my childhood was all in this area. People know me there, and the people who lived in the street where we filmed were very sweet – they were very quiet while we were shooting, but then said, ‘Hiya Cath.’ They’re proud of me there, genuinely proud of me, and it makes my heart soar. I have a very special place in my heart for Wales and the Welsh people.”
London, England
Additional portions for ‘Kill Jackie’ were also reportedly lensed in the capital of England and the United Kingdom — London. Besides utilizing the exterior of a real-life apartment in the city, the production team also took over multiple spots across London, such as Surrey Street, Queen Alexandra’s House on Kensington Gore, The Landmark London at 222 Marylebone Road, and King’s College London in the Strand Campus.
