Directed by Anjali Nayar, Lifetime’s ‘Behind Closed Doors’ revolves around a family-oriented woman named Morgan, whose life revolves around her husband and daughter. However, her life turns upside down when a murder suspect forces his way into her home while fleeing from the authorities. While keeping Morgan and her family captive, the fugitive instructs them to keep a low profile and not tell anyone about him until he manages to escape. Meanwhile, Morgam does her best to prevent any harm to her husband and daughter. As time passes by, she realizes that the arrival of the murder suspect is far from random. The mystery thriller drama movie is set primarily within the four walls of Morgan’s home, which was once a safe space for the family, but becomes the criminal’s playground.
Where Was Behind Closed Doors Filmed?
The shooting for ‘Behind Closed Doors’ was conducted entirely in Ontario, seemingly in and around Ottawa. According to reports, principal photography for the Lifetime production got underway in late September 2025 under the working title ‘Uninvited Guest’ and went on for nearly three weeks before wrapping up in October of the same year. Chris Hong recounted his time on set of the thriller and stated, “So grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great cast and crew!”
Ottawa, Ontario
For the purpose of filming, the production team of ‘Behind Closed Doors’ seemingly settled on the city of Ottawa in the southeastern part of the province of Ontario. Since the capital city is a renowned filming destination, it likely proved ideal to paint the visual canvas of the Lifetime production. In order to create the idyllic setting of the community Morgan and her family are residents of, the team likely made use of the charming suburban neighborhoods of Ottawa, decked with tree-lined streets and planned residential pockets. Careful consideration was observed while finalizing locations to depict the concealed tension under the outward perfection.
As the lives of Morgan and her family turn upside down when a murder suspect invades their home, the property becomes a character itself, exuding a palpable sense of isolation and dread that looms over the family’s safety. The setting enhances the overall tension, turning an otherwise cozy space into a claustrophobic one. Over the years, Ottawa has hosted several movies that share a visual aesthetic similar to that of this Lifetime thriller, such as ‘Bandit,’ ‘A Husband to Die For: The Lisa Aguilar Story,’ ‘Her Husband’s Betrayal,’ ‘My Neighbor’s Secret,’ and ‘Sinister Switch.’ All of these factors position the city as a compelling backdrop for bringing ‘Behind Closed Doors’ to life on screen.

The enthralling narrative of ‘Behind Closed Doors’ is brought to life by the impressive performances from Jennifer Pudavick, Dennis Andres, Chris Hong, and Magalie Langrais. Interestingly, Jennifer and Dennis have previously collaborated on multiple episodes of ‘Workin’ Moms,’ where they portray Gena Morris and Ian Matthews, respectively. As for Chris, he reportedly studied acting for Film and Television and Commercials at LB Studio, Armstrong Acting Studio, and improv classes at the Second City in Toronto.
Jennifer Pudavick as Morgan
Jennifer Pudavick dons the garb of Morgan, the woman who does everything possible to keep her family safe, in ‘Behind Closed Doors.’ Throughout her nearly three decades of experience in the film industry, Jennifer has showcased her acting prowess by taking different kinds of projects. She is popular for her roles in ‘Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Origins’ as Kenya, ‘Mohawk Girls’ as Bailey, ‘The Pinkertons’ as Annalee Webb, ‘Less Than Kind’ as Emcee, and ‘2030 CE’ as Dr. Green. Her other movie credits include ‘Hyena Road,’ ‘Under the Autumn Moon,’ ‘The Christmas Club,’ and ‘Faces in the Crowd.’

Chris Hong steps into the role of Morgan’s husband in the thriller film. Magalie Langrais as Morgan’s Daughter
